Everyone knows you can put mayo in a potato salad or on a sandwich, but do you know the other uses for it? I bet you didn’t know that you can make your own mayonnaise really easily and cheaper than buying it?
How to Make Your Own Mayonnaise
Making your own mayo is so easy! You only need a few ingredients and about 10 minutes! Just get out your ingredients, mix together, and remember to add your oil VERY SLOWLY to get the right consistency. If you add it too fast, you’ll break your mayo! If you do break it, there is a fix! Whisk an egg and slowly add your broken mayo to it, making sure to SLOWLY add and keep whipping.

How to Make Homemade Mayonnaise
- Place egg yolks in a blender or mixing bowl. Add lemon juice, vinegar and 2 Tbsp water.
- Add seasonings. You may wish to add a tsp of dry mustard for extra “zing”.
- On medium speed, mix ingredients together. SLOWLY drizzle oil in. You may even wish to do it spoonful by spoonful. Doing it slowly is important to the proper consistency.
