There are some really good deals this week at Walgreens. Now, if you have been here for a while you know that I have a love hate relationship with Walgreens. I feel like their cashiers and managers in my area are not friendly at all. They usually have no idea what their own coupon policy is and could care less to help you. BUT…. sometimes they have some REALLY good deals!

2 Important things about Walgreens:

  • Always hand over the Manufacturer coupon first, then the Walgreens coupon.
  • You can’t have more coupons then items you are buying. If you need to toss in a cheap “filler” to even it out, look for cheap pencils.

Randalls: 3-Day Sale April 10-12th

My Randalls will double any coupon $.40 to $.50 and triple any coupon up to $.39. They will only double or triple 1 of each coupon.

** Randalls is an affiliate company to Safeway. Most deals at Randalls are also valid at Safeway, Tom Thumb etc.

The in-store deals can be found in the store ad that you can find inside your store. You have to use your Randalls card and also make sure to give them the store coupons along with your manufacturer coupons.

These coupons above from the ad, are store coupons. This means that they can be combined with manufacturer coupons. You just need to remember to hand them over with your other coupons! half the time I forget 🙂

Weekly Menu Plan: April 10th!

This week I am glad to be home and eating with the family again! As fun as it is to eat out, the kids, my husband and even me, love a homemade meal. I am making a few new sides today for dinner, that I will post later today or in the week.

On Wednesday I will be on the Rachel Ray show, so we will make for dinner what she cooked that day!

Sunday – Hamburgers on the grill, Cherry pie filling fruit salad, corn dip.

Monday – I need to use up all the chicken and cream cheese I have so I am making Chicken Lasagna.

Tuesday – Slow cooker Pork Chops. I have a bunch frozen and need to use them up. I also work during the week and love to use slow cooker recipes.

Wednesday – Catch me on Rachel Ray! I am going to make her recipe from that day. Cincinnati Sliders!

Thursday – We have softball games tonight so I will bring the makings for sub sandwiches and a bag of chips to the game for the kids make a sub.

Friday – Homemade Pizza! We have pizza on Fridays, I always make it homemade and use ingredients in the fridge. This is the easiest and best homemade pizza dough recipes I have ever used. I can get it made and in the oven quicker than ordering it out. It is BETTER and cheaper homemade!

I like coupon forums because they are a great way to read other peoples good finds to get some good ideas and to see what other deals are out there. Sometimes the forums can be so big and hard to navigate, but I have found We Use Coupons to be more user friendly than others.

Kroger: New Gas Program, Woopee… NOT!

Well, here we have it, the Fabulous (rolling eyes) new program that Kroger is rolling out. They are stacking the gas rewards program. The big deal is that they are offering $1 off your gas purchase at a Kroger station. This is the problem:

  • You have to spend $1000 in groceries for the month to get the $1 off.
  • You can only use it once.
  • If you don’t use your points, they expire at the end of the month.

Not a great deal since I won’t be shopping there anymore, without the double and triple they are too expensive!

Let’s do the math:

I drive a suburban that has a 31 gallon tank. Ouch! I have to spend $1000 at Kroger to get the $1 off. Normally, I spend about $350 at Kroger monthly, but that is with coupons. So without doubles and triples I figure my total will be about $700 a month for the same groceries. This means I will get a $.70 discount ONE TIME when I fill up. If gas is $3.50, I am getting it for $2.80 with the gas discount, and paying $75.60. I would have normally paid $94.50. The difference is $18.90!

So I have to spend $350 MORE a month in groceries to save $18.90 in gas!

Way to go Kroger that is BRILLIANT! NOT.

Starting Wednesday, April 13, customers will be able to save up to $1 per gallon at Kroger Fuel Centers in the greater Houston area (only) through our new fuel accumulation program. We operate 68 Kroger Fuel Centers in the greater Houston market.

Our enhanced fuel rewards program will allow shoppers to accumulate their earned fuel points. For each increment of 100 points they have earned, they’ll be awarded a discount up to $1 per gallon at Kroger Fuel Centers. Fuel points are based on shopping total before coupons and discounts are applied. For instance, if a customer’s total is $200 but the balance after coupons and discounts is $125, the shopper would be awarded 200 fuel points.

Through our partnership with Shell, shoppers will still be able to save 10 cents per gallon at over 500 participating Shell locations in the Houston area when redeeming 100 earned fuel rewards points.

Here’s the breakdown of fuel point redemption:

·100 points = 10¢ off per gallon of fuel for 1 fill-up at Kroger or Shell (35 gallon cap).

·200 points = 20¢ off per gallon of fuel for 1 fill-up at Kroger (35 gallon cap).

·300 points = 30¢ off per gallon of fuel for 1 fill-up at Kroger (35 gallon cap).

·400 points = 40¢ off per gallon of fuel for 1 fill-up at Kroger (35 gallon cap).

·500 points = 50¢ off per gallon of fuel for 1 fill-up at Kroger (35 gallon cap).

·600 points = 60¢ off per gallon of fuel for 1 fill-up at Kroger (35 gallon cap).

·700 points = 70¢ off per gallon of fuel for 1 fill-up at Kroger (35 gallon cap).

·800 points = 80¢ off per gallon of fuel for 1 fill-up at Kroger (35 gallon cap).

·900 points = 90¢ off per gallon of fuel for 1 fill-up at Kroger (35 gallon cap).

·1,000 points = $1 off per gallon of fuel for 1 fill-up at Kroger (35 gallon cap).

I don’t know about you, but that is pretty insulting. There are MANY other Kroger markets that have this SAME fuel program and UNLIMITED double and triples.

It is obvious that Kroger does not care about my measly $350 a month. I will just shop elsewhere.
