So total for all 13 items was $2.06 BUT I earned $38.05 toward my $5 Beauty Club ECB wyb $50 worth of beauty products! I had 116.79 before this purchase, so I should earn my $5 ECB next time I go in and scan my card(I believe you have to wait 48 hrs for this one to print)

Reader Stephanie had a GREAT trip to HEB last night and shared with us what she found!

I wanted to share what I thought was a really good shopping trip at HEB in Pasadena.
I bought 8 bottles of Barbq sauce (6 diff flavors), The meal deal Lunchmeat, cheese, mac and cheese, bread, mayo, corn nuts and a package of fruitables.
When I was waiting in the checkout line I saw an ortega booklet for 3.99 full of coupons and recipes. So here is  my total.
*8 bottles of barbque sauce – Free
*Kraft singles – 2.98-$1.00 coupon
*Mac and Cheese 1.00-Free with meal deal
*Kraft Garlic & Herb Mayo 1.50-Free with meal deal
*Bairds small loaf 2.07-Free with meal Deal
* Corn nuts 1.08-Free with meal deal
*2 OM Deli lunch meat-2.88 ea-$1/2 coupon
*8pk Fruitables 2.78-$1 coupon
*ortega recipe book 3.99 ($10 worth of coupons inside)

So my total was $29.14 and I had $14.37 worth of coupons (meal deal and fruitables were in store)
And I spent $14.77 – and I now have $10 in ortega coupons to save with.

Woohoo! I am still at $210 this week… but I have a new goal of getting a $50 South West airline gift card. My sister is coming to visit and that would really help paying for her flight. SO that is my new goal for the next few months.

If you have not signed up for Swagbucks, I would really recommend doing it. I had a friend tell me to do it for almost a year before I did and that is one mistake I really made.

I buy Amazon gift crads to pay for my kids Christmas! It is by far my favorite FREE site. For the past 2 Christmas’s I have paid for most of my Christmas gifts with gift cards from Amazon that I have earned through Swagbucks. How to use a Coupon Database + Video

One of the most helpful resources that I can offer you is the coupon database. You will find the database up at the top of my blog, in the navigation bar. I took a screen shot of it so you can see where to go.

Click on Coupon Database.

This will take you to a database of over 4,000 current coupons and where you can find them! This is sooo helpful when planning a shopping trip or making a meal. I just go and type in what I am planning on buying and see where I can find a coupon for it.

Once there I just type in what I am looking for:

This time I typed in “Huggies”, hit enter and up comes all the current Huggies coupons and their location. It pulled up 26 current coupons for Huggies.

The database will tell you any exclusions, the size you need to purchase, what store it is for and when it expires. On the far right, if it is a printable coupon, you can click the green link and print it from there!

Under source you might see this:

SS 05/15/11

This means that you can find this coupon in the May 5th Smart Source insert in your Sunday paper. To see a list of abbreviations go HERE.

That is pretty much it, make sure to take advantage of this great resource!

Fudge Puddle Cookies – Recipe

** This is a repost but I was totally craving these!
It has been really cold here in Houston and that “I just want to stay home and bake” feeling has bitten me! So I wanted to try a new recipe and it was a success, judging by my kids faces.
The recipe is below, mix the dough and then put it in the fridge for about an hour.
Next, I took my smallest cookie scoop and dropped scoopfuls into my mini muffin pans. It was easier and faster than rolling them into balls by hand!
Then as soon as they came out of the oven I used the wooden handle of a ( can’t think of the name of the tool, Mom help!) and pushed in the middle of the cookies to make a little well.
Aren’t they cute?
Next, I made the fudge and had the girls help me fill the cookies.
Oh My Goodness! They are good!
They are so pretty all stacked together. Almost too pretty to eat… almost.

Fudge Puddle Cookies!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup pecan halves

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
  2. Sift together flour, baking soda and salt.
  3. Cream butter, peanut butter and white and brown sugars. Mix in egg and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Stir the flour mixture into creamed mixture. Shape the dough into 48 balls, 1 inch each. Place each ball in one compartment of a mini muffin tin.
  4. For filling, put chocolate chips in a double boiler over simmering water. Stir in milk and vanilla, mix well.
  5. Bake for 14 to 16 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from oven and immediately make wells in the center of each using a melon baller. Cool in pan for 5 minutes. Then carefully remove to wire racks. Using a measuring cup fill each shell with the chocolate mixture. Top with a pecan half.
