Out of the Basket Easter Idea
Browsing Amazon this morning, this popped up as a suggestion. How cute would this be as an Easter Basket that will get use more than one day of the year (and not be shoved in a closet until next year??)??
There are so many possibilities for this Melissa & Doug Gardening Tote, but the very first thing that comes to mind is to fill it with gummy worms, gummy bugs, jelly beans you repackage as “jelly bean tree seeds” and similar things. Then your child has a great toy to help you outside all summer long!

Help for little Jordan.
I don’t even have a picture I can post for this request. If you are from Houston you might have recently seen the news about a little 5 year old boy who was locked up under a staircase for over a year. He was beaten and starved, forced to watch other kids get birthday, Christmas presents and sweets and only fed water and bread once a day. His Mom was trying to get him back and he was being hidden by his father and stepmom.
Thanks to the bravery of an older 16 year old brother who found him, ended up in a fist fight with the Dad and telling the police about his little brother he was rescued.
I have cried a few times in the past 2 days over this, it is so heartbreaking. Having a little boy the same age, and being a human being I am so disgusted and desperate to do something.
There is a Facebook group that is getting clothing, presents and more to SHOWER this little guy with things he has been missing out on. If you want to join in, you can find more information HERE.
* Also, I want to remind everyone that DePelchin Children’s Center is ALWAYS in need of toys and help in the Houston area for abused children who come in with nothing but the clothes on their back.
