I live in West Houston and have had some problems couponing lately. I went to Kroger a few nights ago and tried to use the Bayer coupons and was told that I could not because of the overage, then I had to go to the service desk to return them. I thought oh well I will just try at WalMart later. Today I went and she told me they did not work on chewables because the $3 coupon was more expensive than the $2.22 aspirin. She says it robs wal-mart. I didn’t really want to fight today. But was I doing anything wrong? Shouldn’t it have worked both times?
Also while at Kroger I was buying gogurt for the 1.39 price you had listed. When I went only one box was marked down so I decided to splurge and pick up another box to use my .75/2 coupon. The cashier told me coupons do not work on Manager Special items. Odd when exactly two weeks previously I had purchased 2 Johnsonville sausages that were marked down to 2.39 and used 2 $1 coupons on them? What is up? Can I use coupons on Manager specials or not?

Wow, you got really grouchy cashiers all 3 times! However, Krogers new policy leaves it open for them to not take coupons for items that will give you overage. They could have taken them if they had wanted.
Now, Walmart was just absolutely WRONG. That one was just absolutely worth fighting about, and she should have NEVER talked to you like that saying it ROBS Walmart???? NO, Walmart MAKES money when you use coupons. That coupon is more than appropriate to use on the chewables.
Kroger, is weird. I have been using coupons on manager items with out a problem for years. But again, it is up to the store and cashier mostly. Like you said it is going to depend on who is checking you out.

Same exact problems at Kroger and yes it just does depend on who your cashier is. I hate to say it, but cashier profiling does pay off. Choose wisely :0) I’ve got my guy at Kroger who is there every Sunday and I know he’s cool.
