Did you play with Teddy Ruxpin as a child? As we were browsing new toys on Amazon the other day we came across this new Teddy Ruxpin Release and boy did it take us wayyyy back. The original Teddy Ruxpin came out in 1985 (we won’t share how old we were at that time) so if you didn’t play with one then you might have a little one running around that totally did! We all remember having to wind those lovely cassette tapes back up when they went all over the place right? Side note: apparently this Teddy Ruxpin version has been out at least a year now.

So we did a little bit of research so you can compare old to new and vice versa. Now this is NOT the first revamp on the popular Teddy Ruxpin but it is supposed to be the best yet, so you be the judge.
Back in 1985 here are some facts about Teddy Ruxpin:
- Only cost $100 Brand New
- Used Audio Tapes
- Had his own cartoon
- Cost of new tape with book was $20 each
Now here’s what you need to know about the new Teddy Ruxpin:
- Smaller than the original
- Uses small digital cartridges
- Currently under $100
- Includes color lcd eyes with over 40 animations! (I’ll admit I am not sure if this is entertained or kinda weird at this point)
So do you think you’ll be buying the next generation their very own version of the Teddy Ruxpin? Do you still have your original Teddy Ruxpin lying around or still in the box? (The old school Teddy Ruxpin are on Ebay going for $300+!)
