It is not a good week at Giant Eagle this week. There are some cuts of meat BOGO, and remember that with meat you truly do buy one and get the less expensive one free. So try to match up packages as closely as possible.

FREE The Golden Acorn on Kindle or other device!
There is a really cute book you can get for free on Amazon, The Golden Acorn ( The Adventures of Jack Brenin) by Catherine Cooper.
When Jack Brenin finds a golden acorn lying in the grass, little does he know that it is the beginning of a thrilling and magical adventure. Just an ordinary boy, Jack has been chosen for a hugely important task, and enters a world he believed only existed in legend. Full of twists and turns, talking ravens and mischievous Spriggans, ‘The Golden Acorn’ is a hugely entertaining and exciting tale from a very talented new author. Your kids will love it, and so will you! This brilliant story deservedly won the Brit Writers’ Awards 2010 for unpublished writers. Jack’s adventures continue in ‘Glasruhen Gate’ and ‘Silver Hill’.

You don’t have to have a Kindle to get all these awesome free books! You can download Kindle books to any device!

Walmart 2012 Holiday Toy Book RELEASED!
The Walmart Toy Book was released just a little bit ago! Time for the kids to grab a sharpie and start circling! Thanks I Heart The Mart!
Walmart is proud to announce that they have over 200 toys $30 or less this year that they are advertising. You can be some of the first to see the toys HERE.
The 2012 Walmart Layaway Program for the Holiday Season has been announced and I have some really exciting news for you. I think it is awesome! There are some key changes that make it a no brainer for this Holiday Season.
You are now able to pay with cash when you purchase something at Walmart.com.
I think this is a great idea for a few reasons.
- There are items you can only get online.
- If you are an envelope system, cash using family, this is awesome!
- Perfect for people who don’t use credit or debit cards.
The biggest reason…..
You can basically price match to Walmart.com now!!
I went in and “bought” something to see what my choices were. Sure enough, the cash option is there! Just choose cash and “site to store” to get free shipping and pick it up a few days later as if you bought it in the store!

Halloween Candy Corn Hugs Pretzels
Halloween Candy Corn Pretzels are so easy and simple to make, the kids will be able to do most of the work. I made these last Christmas and they were a HUGE hit, and so I did them again for Halloween.
The only problem I had was finding the Hershey’s Hugs Kisses. Weirdly, they were hard to find.
First, find some kids, and have them unwrap all the hugs in a bag.
Second, get a rimmed cookie sheet and have the kids arrange pretzels on the tray.
Third, have the same kids put a single hug on each pretzel.
This is where you come in. You will need to turn the oven on to 350 and when it is hot, put the try in the oven. Hugs melt quicker than the regular kisses, so watch them closely. It will take about 2-3 minutes to get soft.
Quickly press a candy corn into the middle of each hug. You have to work fast and you can see how soft they get. We did plain kisses and peanut butter M&M’s in the back. Once you are done they will set up in a few hours but I always toss the tray into the fridge and set them up quick. They just pop right off the tray.
Packaging is easy, they are so pretty. Also, they taste really good, if you are not a fan of candy corn they taste more like caramel then candy corn!
