**Extended to November 2nd or until it sells out! **
The Zaycon chicken event is OPEN for Houston! It is also going on in MANY parts of the country!
The Delivery date:
The Woodlands:Â Â Nov. 8th. from Noon to 1:00pm.
Katy Area:  Nov. 8th. from 3:30 to 4:30pm.
I was introduced to Zaycon Foods earlier in the year, but I did not have a chance to try it until last month. Zaycon Foods combines the buying power of many families together, enabling them to negotiate huge savings on food purchases for your family. They bring products direct from the farm / processor, so it is super fresh!
They deliver all over the country, you can take a look HERE to see what is available in your area. I know that they are planning an event in Houston probably the second week of September.
This is what to do:
- Go HERE to Zaycon Foods.
- Create an account and register.
- When registering choose your area, this will allow them to know how many people are interested in an event in that area so they can set one up. Then you will get an email alerting you to an event that is coming. It is important to choose a location/state so that if you have people in that area waiting for enough to make an order, combining you all together will do that!
- Then go to “View my account” and you can see what is coming in your area and how to order!
These events will have a pick up location, as the product is fresh and not frozen so it is not shipped.
The chicken comes in a 40 pound box. It has 4 – 10 pound bags inside. This is what I did with my chicken order.
Buying in bulk is one of the ways that I save a lot of money on food. You do not have to have a large chest freezer to store this much chicken. Also, consider splitting an order with a friend or neighbor. The chicken is 100% natural chicken with no added hormones, additives or artificial ingredients, and will be priced around $1.49 a pound!!!
The Delivery date:
The Woodlands:Â Â Nov. 8th. from Noon to 1:00pm.
Katy Area:  Nov. 8th… from 3:30 to 4:30pm.
**Read the comments HERE to find someone to spilt with!Â
Here is my video on how I store my chicken:

How often do they have these sale events? I am trying to determine how much to buy.
Thanks

I did the bacon one and they said each event would be every 3 months, one month bacon, next is chicken , then third is beef, then the rotation starts all over…it was a quick pick up, very impressive…it was in a refrigerated truck. The box the bacon came in fit easily into my freezer. I would recumbent repackaging it, to help save on space in the freezer..

I assume the boxes are kept cold, can you provide any details on how? They’re website does not specify.
Tiffany says
I am not sure, I have not seen a pick up before, I would email them and ask.

The bacon was delivered in a refrigerated truck.

I just logged into my account and it lists for the Woodlands and Katy sales that “Orders must be placed by Friday, October 28, 2011” so if that’s right, you’ve got a couple more days.

I got an email tonight saying they were extending the order date to October 28th or until sold out

Tiffany,
Did you pick the date and time or did Zaycon?
Would it be possible to have the next pickup on a Saturday? Won’t be able to pick up on a weekday after hubby finds a new job.
The pick-up of bacon was fast and convenient. Didn’t even have to get out of the car!
Can’t wait for chicken!!!!
Tiffany says
They pick everything I have no affiliation with them other than I offered a place to do it at so they would come here! We should all email and ask though!

Has anyone tried the Zaycon bacon? I’ve purchased it a couple of weeks ago but have not tried it myself. My co worker has said that the bacon does not taste like the regular bacon that you get at the store. She says it tastes like wild hogs. I’ve just emailed Zaycon to clarify what type of pig the bacon is from. I will try the bacon tonight for myself after work.
Lynn says
Update – I cooked the bacon two nights ago, and it was great! My co worker tried it for herself and said it was great as well (she is usually very picky). It was her grandma that did not enjoy the bacon, but again we all have different tastes. I take back my above comment, this was the best homecooked bacon i’ve ever had!

I have to admit that I’m highly annoyed at the moment 😉 I haven’t bought chicken breasts for the last couple of weeks in anticipation of stocking up with Zaycon… but in the middle of the day on a weekday? Really? Sorry, but I will be at work and can’t make it within the 1 hour window.
Tiffany says
Email them and let them know. I just relay the information. Well and volunteered my place of work so there was a delivery location on his side of town. I am guessing it has something to do with when they can pick up the chicken, but I would email or call and ask. Personally I would not let that get in the way of me buying it, can you split it with a friend and have them pick it up, trade with another person this order. You could email me and I could stick it in the fridge at the church and meet you up there later in the day to get it. There are options.
Corrin says
If you ordered it from the one in Katy I would be glad to pick up for you. I would hope someone would offer that for me as well if I was working. I can make room for both boxes in my fridge until you can pick it up that day OR if you do not mind I can see if my MIL will put it in her deep freeze until the weekend. I really do not mind doing this. If you want my number you can email me eles3d@hotmail.com
Hope this helps. 🙂

Thanks ladies, that is so sweet 🙂 I live in Spring so I’d do the pick up the Woodlands, I’m going to see if I can sweet talk my boss into some extra time off. I wonder if it’s unethical to bribe your employer with chicken breasts 😉
Aliceson says
Awesome! I’m in for one and splitting it with 3 other friends this first time. 🙂 Just FYI – the pickup time for The Woodlands delivery now says 11:30-2:00.
