If you’re new to walgreens read my Walgreens 101 before heading out to the store. See all this weeks deals and coupons here. This week I’ll be doing a scenario for the points, remember you wont earn points on items if you use your points to purchase them.
How are you adjusting to the new points system at walgreens? Are you saving your points up or using them as you earn them? I haven’t decided what the best way to benefit from the change, I want to hear what you guys think about it!
In this points scenario you will spend $15.65 + tax, and earn 5,000 points = $5!

I’ve been saving up my points. I have bought items that earn points as long as I needed that item and had a coupon for it. For example, this week wyb (2) Enfagrow older toddler drink packs you earn 1,000 points. I used the $10/2 printable to make this a killer deal! $6.49 x 2 = $12.98. Minus $10/2 q and earning 1,000 points makes the final cost $.99 each.

Hubby fills a LOT of prescriptions (getting older with a heart condition isn’t cheap). He also picks up my 1 each month. He now has it on his key ring – see you can teach them :). Within 2 trips he had made $5. He will just accumulate points and money until he actually purchases something there. I imagine that will be vitamins of some sort (along with a coupon of course and sale). He is a good saver/couponer since I retired. He even brings me the receipt so I can fill out the survey and hopefully win some money.
