I have gotten a few emails this week regarding the above coupons. For some reason these are really making the email rounds right now. There are a few clues that should let you know that these are likely fraudulent coupons:
- They are “high value” – $3 off Oscar Mayer deli meat will likely make it free, at the most you might see $1 off.
- They are sent in a PDF format and do not come from the manufacturer.
- They just don’t “look” right.
- There are multiple coupons in the PDF from different manufacturers.
If you ever have any questions about coupons please go to the CIC (coupon information center) and look at the fraudulent coupon list and see if they are on there.
Here is the direct link to the Nestle coupon CIC info.
Thank you Lisa and everyone else that sent over these coupons this week!

Thank you so much for posting this… My mother-in-law gave me that Dr. Pepper q.. and kept saying “you should copy it and use it over and over”.. I never did… to be honest I don’t trust her and wherever she got it.

OH WOW, mil’s can be very suspicious (talking/typing from experience).
Trust your gut instinct and you should never go wrong.

I know of some people that walked out of a local store with 10 free 12 packs of DP, they used these coupons. Unbelievable! Is there really such a thing as a PDF coupon that you can print as many times as you want? I have seen some for scotch tape and I’m now wondering if they are fraudulent too.
Tiffany says
NOt really about 99.9 % of the time they are not real. 3M (which has Scotch) is the ONLY place I know that has PDF coupons that are legit.

I have gotten a legit pdf coupon from Organic girl, but they emailed it to me password protected.
Silvia says
I heard the DP from my Dollar General manager. They received an email to all the stores to be cautious of this coupon and a Cat Litter one to. Yes the only one that I know was the scotch take..

I saved the PDF file that has the scotch tape coupons that expire 9-30-11. I’d be happy to send it to you, Tiffany, and let an expert decide if they’re real 🙂 I would really hate to use fraudulent coupons, I’m part of a local coupon group and I believe fraudulent coupons harm those of us that are trying to do it the right way!
Tiffany says
Send it over, I don’t know if I would know any more then you, but I can take a look.
Rhema Carr says
I finally got that file sent to you lol

Tiffany says
Thats right I forgot about that one!
Joanie says
I tried to use the Nexcare coupon at Walmart yesterday and the would not accept it. They were suspicious that it may be counterfeit.

I’ve gotten many in email from manufacturers that were printable over and over. The free Johnsonville was one and the YoCrunch was another. Also the 3m I still have. I also got a new Pdf one in email from a manufacturer that i could print as many times as I want…..can’t remember now which product.
So lots of manufacturers are doing it and they are legit.

I just stood in line in a store behind a women and her husband who filled their carts with Dr. Pepper and Nestle water. They were using this coupons. The CSM was called over to help because the checker couldn’t get all of the coupons to scan. The CMS said, “If they will scan use them, but some of these types we can’t accept.” I even piped in that there are a lot of counterfeit coupons, going around lately, especially the high dollar ones. (I hadn’t seen this post otherwise I might have had more information.) The checker was able to get 4 of the Dr. Pepper to scan and none of the others. So the couple didn’t get the waters or the rest of the sodas. When they were finished and had left, the checker and I (who are both couponers) both commented on how she probably knew they were fake, and that this was theft from the store. But the check said, “If the computer takes them, I have to.” What can we say, how can we stop this if we are seeing it? I tried to help, but I didn’t have all the details. Should I print the warnings about these and have them in my binder just in case. I just hate that these types of people and coupons could ruin us honest couponers.
Tiffany says
That is HORRIBLE and makes me so mad. If people use them uneducated and don’t know that is different then knowingly using counterfeit coupons.
LO says
I was mortified. I honestly didn’t know what I could do except for advising the checker that I thought they were fake. Do you have any suggestions on what we can do as bystanders?
Tiffany says
You really can’t do anything. The thing is I would not want any of you to get into a confrontation with someone. PLus you can’t be sure that they just dont know, and I would hate to be embarrassed in front of people if someone was to call me out. Most people would probably get defensive.
The thing is that people just dont care if they are stealing. I have printed the reward and fraud page off the other day and have it with me now. All we can do is let them know, make sure the stores know ( but then they freak out about EVERY coupon) and hope that people are honest.

What I don’t understand is, if a coupon is fake, how and why does it go through at the register? If you try to use an expired coupon, for example, it won’t go through, why not the same for fake coupons? That would solve all of our problems.

I have seen what looked like legit coupons that would ring. I had a .50 coupon recently for Velveta slices. Two nights later I was checking people out and a women came through my line with the exact same coupon that now was a 5.00. I didn’t take it and the woman grabbed it out of my hand. The police told me a couple of years ago that you can buy a machine that will create coupons that look real and will ring for about $1,000.
Danny says
the max legit coupon for Dr. Pepper I seen has been a dollar off. no way it can be 4 bucks off!
Kagome says
I had a these sent to me the other day and did research on them and found out they where counterfeit. I told the person that sent them to me they where and they went to the store and used them anyway. Just going to make the store raise the prices.

My aunt was in town and printed off these coupons that she got in an email from her friend. She’s a couponer, I am not. I was quite intrigued that she printed off twelve of each coupon. The only thing I found strange was the fact that you could print so many off at a time and they’d still accept them. Well she went to the store and came home with all of this Dr. Pepper, and so I figured I’d search for the coupon and print it off myself to get more. Glad I came accross this website. My aunt said she had no idea where the coupons came from, that her friend must have a website they get coupons off of and she wanted to be let in on the secret. She’ll be quite shocked when I tell her this.
Kate says
And I don’t know why I didn’t notice sooner…the fine print says coca-cola will pay…Dr. Pepper isn’t a coca-cola brand!
Ty says
I had no idea these were fraudulent until today when I tried to use some for the second time. I had sent them out to my friends and family too now I feel so stupid….

OMG, I posted a picture of the soda and water I got & a friend of mine asked me if the coupons were fake & I said no, they are scanning at the check out. And she said ok because she got info on these coupons being fake and sent me this link and sure as heck these are the coupons that I have been using. Now I feel bed because I didn’t know they were fake. A friend of mine received them through E-mail and passed them along to me. After he used them and said they worked I started using them. Having no idea they were fake since the stores were scanning them at the register and they were going through. Holy crap. I will stop using them right away. Thank you for this info.
Tiffany says
Sure, NEVER use coupons that you got in an email, they are fake about 99% of the time!

OMG, I feel like such a Turd! My bestfriend and I used these coupons earlier. We had no idea until a few hours ago that they were FRAUDS! We call the store and explained to them, took back what we had, but we donated most of the water and Dr. P to the CAC and Ronald McDonald House. The store took back what we had, and we made copies of the coupons for all the cashiers. But these coupons scanned! How in the world do you make fake coupons that scan? I feel like crud!!
