That is my “coupon math” talking, at least that is what my husband says! My total for the entire table above was $2.70! PLUS I got a $3 catalina with my receipt, so I figure they paid me $.30 to walk out of the store with it! 🙂
I had a long and crazy week, so I took the 4 big kids and ran into Randalls to use a few rain checks that I had, and a few coupons that were burning a hole in my pocket. Randalls/Safeway has a catalina deal going right now where you buy 3 Hallmark cards and you get $5 back. I needed cards last week so I had a few catalinas to use also!
20 Nestle Nesquik drinks $.99
Used 20 Nestle Nesquik $1 off coupons = 20 Free
20 Lunchables $.99 ( I had a rain check from last week)
Used 20 $.75 off any Lunchable coupon = 20 for $.24 each
1 box clementines $5
20 Boxes Quaker Instant Oatmeal B1G1 Free $3.78 for 1
Used 20 $1 Quaker oatmeal coupon (made them $.89 a box)
Used $20 in catalina’s
Total: $2.70 saved 98% got back $3
Extreme couponing makes you feel better! 🙂 I saved $115

Is there a limit on how many of the same coupons retailers will take? Will they double and triple however many coupons you give them of the same product? How did you get 20 of the same coupons?
Tiffany says
Ever single store is different. Even my 2 Krogers within 2 miles of each other are different, you just have to know the policy at each store. None of my coupons doubled or tripled. I buy anywhere from 6-12 papers a week, then I usually have some neighbors that give me theres instead of tossing them.
Brandy says
Where did you get the nesquik coupons?
Tiffany says
They were from a in-store demo at Walmart a while ago, where they let you sample the item and hand out coupons

Did I miss the lunchable coupons? And for the record, I very strongly dislike Tom Thumb (Safeway)… they are a ripoff! Only doubling the first like coupon and then requiring a $10 purchase for the peanut butter to be $1.49. So really, only the first ONE was $.49 and the rest were $1.00 because of their ridiculous doubling rule. It’s too much effort and thought involved to split it into four different transactions and make sure that each transaction is over $10.00. Just not digging them lately… think I’ll send a note to corporate! 🙂

I have a question I have read the safeway policy and it clearly states that you cannot use a coupon on the free item, so how were you able to buy 20 oatmeal if it’s on sale on BOGO and use 20 coupons since by the policy you should’ve used only 10?
Tiffany says
I have actually not seen that in the policy, I guess I didn’t read it well enough. If that is what it says than they should have only taken 10.
Tiffany says
Randalls policy DOES say you can not use a coupon on a free item! If I would have known that I obvioulsy would not have done that transaction that way. The policy in my binder is outdated as it does not say that. Lesson learned: PRINT a new policy every month or at least RE-check it online!

Sheesh. You’re my hero.

I so need to take lessons from you!! That transaction was Awesome!!! When will you be having another class?
Michelle says
Were you able to get a raincheck for 20 of an item? They limit me to 3 (ugh)….just curious!
Tiffany says
Yes they did. I had gone in a few times and they were out even on different days.

I tried to do the $1 mission tortillas with the $0.99 Randalls coupon and the manager (in a rather exasperated rude tone I might add) told me the machine would not let her take that off and it was out of her hands and there was nothing she could do. Which I know is a lie and their coupon policy DOES state that they will adjust the coupon to the price of the item. She said, “Someone else already tried that one earlier today and it won’t scan so we can’t do it.”
Sorry, for the forever long post but that happened Saturday night and its been eating at me ever since. I just had to vent…so thanks for listening. If Kroger wasn’t a 20 minute drive as opposed to the 1 min that Randalls is, I would probably never go there.
