This is our 8th baby, Miller. He is the resident Labradoodle. As darling and fluffy as he is, the Texas heat is not much fun for him, so we keep him groomed short in the summer time.
I usually cut his hair, well I do it about every other time. I cut it really close and try and shape him to look good, and it turns out ok. Not great but ok. It takes me about 2 hours and just about burns up my clippers. I will take him in to have a good cut done and reshape him like he is supposed to be. Because he is such a big dog, it usually costs anywhere from $60-$80 to have him done, so not something that I want to have to do often.
This past week I had to take him in to get groomed. We ended up going to Spring Klein Pet Salon, I wanted to give a shout out to Bonnie who did him because…
- She did an AWESOME job!
- He finally got a cut like I wanted ( they usually make him look like a schnauzer)
- She was reasonably priced
- She was fast
- Miller liked her
- She is a small business owner with her own shop she just opened ( I LOVE to support local, small businesses!)
- Bonnie offers 20% off your first visit

Bonnie is open 7 days a week! She has kids in college to support 🙂 I just wanted to say thanks for a great job and taking care of our dog like the part of our family that he is! Check her out if you are in the Houston area, you will be glad you did!
Do you groom your dogs (or even cat) or do you take them in?

Part comedian, part Dad, part athlete. He will boss around your children while they play ball.
Just as angelic as she looks, this girl could easily raise a Village by herself, and all the children would grow up to be President.
Self proclaimed, she would be a webkinz dog. Because, "they're cute, and puppies are too. And they're sweet and they always get along with other puppies."
This mini-Martha Stewart can handle ANY craft you send her way. She isn't all bows and rainbows, she's got karate kid moves!
Not "Pick-Me-Up" like caffeine, she wants you to pick her up! AND NOW!
Anything that can be destroyed WILL be destroyed!
Practically Perfect in Every Way for now! Nicknamed "The Panda" she is rolly polly and lives by the motto, "the little one, is KING!"
The resident Labradoodle, Miller got his name because Mom won and got to name the baby! Need something chewed up? He'll take care of it. Especially if it's expensive..
I groomed six kids, does that count? And we won’t count when they did it themselves.
I do the hair combing and the cats nails and the guinea pigs nails and baths but the dogs have got to have someone else do their nails. Usually we do the vet clinic. Mine don’t have the coats that need trimming just brushing. I think Miller looks really great. Glad you found someone that can do that great a job.
I am scared to do the nails? How did you learn how to do it?
Miller looks great and has been allergic to some of the chemicals groomers have used in the past. Bonnie must be a miracle worker because he isn’t itching at all!! I love the cut!!!
I used to have 4 chows and I had to brush and trim their fur all the time. I also clipped their nails. When you do this just make sure you have quick stop to stop the bleeding when you cut to short it happens. they have a new filer thing out now I just got it but i havent tried it yet pedipaws you can get it on amazon with this there is no bleeding. I now have a golden. fur is easy to deal with whew.
I take my dogs down to Heidleburg Kennels down on Riley Fuzzle. They have a shop there and everything there is cheaper than petco or pet smart so I buy all of my pet supplies from them.
The people there are GREAT! They bathe the dogs by weight, I have 2 yellow labs and it’s about $23-25 and $8 for nails per animal. They also do brushing, grooming and ear cleaning.
Their number is 281-350-3732
