There is a big misconception out there that you can not save money on Organic items. That’s just simply not the case. These days there are more ways than ever to get discounts on Organic items and it really just comes down to applying what you already know about couponing to Organic items.
How to Save on Organic
Start with the sale ads. Stores are doing a great job of highlighting organics in their ads. They know people are looking for them and want to give them what they want. When you menu plan and shop around those items on sale, you are going to save more money. And since the sale selection varies each week you don’t need to worry about lack of variety.
Get your coupons. You will find coupons on the major sites from time to time, but the best source for Organic coupons still tends to be direct on the grower/manufacturer websites. Earthbound Organic is a leader in the industry when it comes to coupons. They have an ongoing promotion that resets weekly for you to print while it lasts. Plum Organics is a great baby and toddler company that has regular coupons as well. Once you find a brand or organics, Google their name plus “coupon” to find them. It never hurts to get on their email or mailing list either! And you can always check my Coupon Database to find printable and insert coupons for organics.
Digital rebates. I can not stress enough now HUGE digital rebates have become in all areas of saving money on groceries, and they are especially important when it comes to orgranics. With the rise of digital rebates we have seen the rise of NON branded offers. Generic offers for “ANY” carrots, “ANY” milk, “ANY” yogurt, you get the idea, you can redeem the rebates of that type on organics! And like any other digital rebate offer, you can stack the offer with a coupon.

More pro-saver tips for organics:
- Look for store brands. Many stores are jumping on the bandwagon and bringing in their own lines of organic products that can save you money.
- Buy in bulk. When you find a great deal on something, buy extra and freeze or preserve it.
- Check out the clearance racks. Look for close to expiring items and discontinued products in those areas that carry the organic label.
- Grow your own. Container garden if you have a smaller space.
- Shop locally, seasonally. Focus on what’s in season and checkout your local stores and farmers markets. And talk to the sellers about how their products are produced.
