Cinnamon Rolls Cinnabon

How many of you are in Houston? YUCK! The weather is horrible, if we get any more rain I think we are going to float away!

Nights light these I get the urge to bake something. My thighs are telling me “no” but my brain is telling me “do it!”

My sister and her husband should be getting in about 10:30 tonight after driving for 2 solid days and so I wanted to have something for them when they get here. I am going to make Cinnabon Cinnamon Rolls. You can follow along with me tonight, or just check back with the results in the morning.

This is where I am at now:

  • 1 quart Whole Milk
  • 1 cup Vegetable Oil or Butter
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2 packages Active Dry Yeast, 0.25 Ounce Packets

I double mine and use butter. Add all ingredients together EXCEPT yeast, and “scald” the milk. That means bring it to right before it starts to boil. Set aside and cool to warm. Sprinkle the yeast on top and let it sit on the milk for 1 minute.

This is a Cinnamon Roll recipe you can use for right now, I am posting mine in the morning! I have used this one in the past and like it!

What about with 2% milk and low fat margarine or I can’t believe it’s not butter? Do they taste the same?

I usually use I can’t believe it’s not butter in all of my recipes and I think it tastes the same :)
