I should save the best for last but I am afraid you won’t read until the end.
THESE ARE UNBELIEVABLE!!! MAKE THEM TODAY!!!

They are called…

Apple Dumplings

Download Printable Recipe: Apple Dumplings

2 Granny Smith apples
2 cans crescent rolls
2 sticks butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 teaspoons vanilla
cinnamon
1 small can Mountain Dew

Peel and core apples. Cut apples into 8 slices each. Roll each apple slice in a crescent roll. Place in a 9 x 13 buttered pan. Melt butter, then add sugar and barely stir. Add vanilla, stir, and pour over apples. Pour Mountain Dew around the edges of the pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Serve with ice cream, and spoon some of the sweet sauces from the pan over the top.

This is what they look like if you crank your head sideways…. They are awesome!! Especially with some Blue Bell!

Now onto an old favorite…
Pampered Chef Chicken Broccoli Braid
Ingredients:
2 cups cooked chicken, chopped
1 cup broccoli, chopped
1/2 cup red bell pepper, chopped
1 garlic clove, pressed
4 oz. (1cup) sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tsp. all-purpose dill mix
1/4 tsp. salt
2 pkgs. (8oz. each) refrigerated crescent rolls
1 egg white, lightly beaten
2 tbls. slivered almonds

Directions:
Preheat oven to 375F. Chop chicken and broccoli using food chopper; place in 2 qt. batter bowl. Chop bell pepper using 5″ utility knife; add to batter bowl. Press garlic over vegetable mixture using garlic press. Shred cheese using cheese grater and add to vegetable mixture; mix gently. Add mayonnaise, dill mix, and salt; mix well using scraper. Unroll 1 package of crescent dough; do not separate. Arrange longest sides of dough across width of 12″ x 15″ rectangle baking stone. Repeat with remaining package of dough. Using roller, roll dough to seal perforations. On longest sides of baking stone, cut dough into strips 1 1/2 inches apart, 3 inches deep using a pizza cutter (there will be 6 inches in the center for the filling). Spread filling evenly over middle of dough. To braid, lift strips of dough across mixture to meet in center, twisting each strip on turn. Continue alternating strips to form a braid. Tuck ends under to seal at end of braid. Brush egg white over dough using pastry brush. Sprinkle with almonds. Bake 25-28 minutes or until deep golden brown.
Substitute 1 tsp. dried dill weed for The Pampered Chef Pantry All-Purpose Dill Mix, if desired.

Now How about something for breakfast?

Breakfast Casserole

1 lb. sausage

8 oz. can crescent rolls

2 c. shredded Monterey cheese
4 eggs, beaten
3/4 c. milk
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper

Crumble sausage; cook and drain. Line bottom of a buttered 9 x 13 inch pan with crescent rolls, firmly pressing perforations to seal. Sprinkle with sausage and cheese. Combine milk, eggs, salt, and pepper; pour over. Bake 25 minutes at 375 degrees. Serve immediately. This can be assembled the night before in the casserole dish.

This was really good the next day. I think you could make it the night before and leave it in the fridge.
What do you use crescent rolls for? Any good recipes?

I put peanut butter & jelly inside, roll up & bake for breakfast or a snack. My boys love them that way and I think they taste even better after they are cold.

I just made the Pampered CHef Broccoli Braid last week. It is a favorite around my house (even though I never quite got it to look "braided") I eliminated the almonds and add onion and green peppers. It is super good!

I make sausage rolls (an aussie recipe) but I usually use phyllo pastry. I might try them with the cresent rolls.

I'll post the recipe on my blog this week.
