Grilled Ham & Cream Cheese Sandwich
Wondering what to do with all that leftover ham? This deliciously amazing Grilled Ham & Cream Cheese Sandwich will bring a new flavor to that leftover holiday ham. Even better I’m betting you will have most of these ingredients sitting in your refrigerator, left over from all your holiday cooking.
You can grill these sandwiches in a normal sauté pan. However, if you want the grill marks on your sandwich, I recommend a Calphalon Square Grill Pan or George Foreman Electric Grill.
Grilled Ham & Cream Cheese Sandwich-1
Ingredients:
  • 4 – 6 slices artisan bread
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1/3 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup ham, chopped
  • 1/4 cup spinach, chopped
  • 2 tbsp onion, diced
  • 2 tbsp green bell pepper, diced
  • 2 tbsp of unsalted butter, room temperature

Grilled Ham & Cream Cheese Sandwich-2

In a medium size bowl add softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped ham, chopped spinach, diced onion and green bell pepper. Mix all ingredients until thoroughly combined.

On a slice of thick cut sourdough or bakery loaf bread, spread 1 1/2 tbsp of ham and cream cheese mixture. Butter both sides of the bread generously.

Heat 1 tbsp of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Place sandwich buttered side down in the hot skillet and cook until golden brown. Using a spatula, pick up the sandwich and add an additional 1 tbsp of butter, flip the sandwich over onto melting butter. Cook until golden brown. Place on a place and serve.
