Kroger is having a HUGE meat event this week. So if you are in the market to stock up on some meat, take a look at the ad.
** In some other sad news and more proof that Kroger hates couponers and is going to all digital. It looks like the Dallas area and most of TX and LA will be discontinuing double and triple coupons by 9-14.
The change came after Kroger realized the growing popularity of digital coupons, mobile apps and manufacturers producing coupons valued at more than $.50.
“We feel it’s an ideal time to test out a new money-saving program and discontinue double/triple,” the company said in a news release.
Thanks to Savewellspendless for the Kroger write up, I adjusted for the Southwest Region

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Ever since Kroger stopped doubling and tripling I only shop there when I have to (small last minute purchases because it is the closest store to my house) or when the sales are too good to avoid (like the .50 secret!). I refuse to support their company when they are becoming coupon unfriendly and making it more expensive to provide for my family especially in these hard times of recession. Why would I give more of my hard earned money to Kroger when they are simply greatly expanding their profit (at my expense!) Use your spending power and send them a message that we won’t support their “new ways of saving” which equate to more ways for them to increase their profit and make it harder for us to feed our families!

I agree Susan. I shop at Kroger only when I get a great deal. Otherwise, I price match at walmart. I feel like everyone should continue to send emails to Kroger and let them know how dissapointed we are and we will just price match at walmart.

BOO!!! Kroger has been my favorite store especially since they double. I dislike the digital coupons because half the time they never work correctly. Who can we complain to????

I’m glad I started couponing after Kroger stopped doubling/tripling because I guess I don’t know what I was missing! But, I sure can imagine…. and I don’t blame everyone for being ticked! I’m not ready for the digital coupon age too much. I like the tangible ones. Maybe it’s a control thing. 🙂

so… does this mean they will only accept digital coupons after 9/14?!
Tiffany says
NO they will still accept coupons just at Face value.

My Kroger is part of the Houston area Kroger’s (College Station/Bryan, TX) and when Houston stopped the double and tripling…they said they were not. I just called my store and spoke to the manager…he said he hadn’t heard anything about that, so I am keeping my fingers crossed that they will continue to double and triple. I realize that it is inevitable…:(

What about the buy 4, save 4 on the select P&G items this week? We can still use manufacture coupons on them right? Thanks!
Tiffany says
Yes you can!
Pam says
Do you know of any grocery stores in the Houston area that continue to double coupons??
