Kroger has the Hormel Natural Lunch meat on sale this week for $3 a package. Plus there is a free $.50 Hormel printable HERE. Making it only $2.50 a pack, OR if your Kroger still doubles, only $2 a pack!
Did you know you could freeze lunch meat? When ever I get a really good deal on lunch meat, I toss it in the freezer to stock up on it esp. during the school year! Sorry, for the random comment!

Thanks for the tip! Just wondering, how long will lunch meat last in the freezer?

Gosh I think I have had some in there for 3-4 months at least and it was just fine. I am not sure what a professional would say!

Maybe I’m the odd ball here but I never buy the prepacked lunch meat because when I work out the price per oz. the deli fresh cut is cheaper.
I know that the butterball turkey is around $5 a pound at walmart. Those prepack usually only have 6-8 oz…so I get a better deal buying it from the deli. I usually buy one lb of turkey and 1/2 lb of hormel ham ($4.xx a lb)…and have lunchmeat for the week.
I did recently buy a pack of that carving board ham…needed it for a recipe and I forgot to take some out of the freezer…at less than $3 at walmart…it was really good…and cut as though we had just taken it off a spiral cut ham ourselves!

I buy the Hormel Natural meats at Walmart for $2.50 each and freeze them for months. I never run out of lunchmeat. The best think about them is that they are natural so no nitrites or nitrates for my family. The sodium content I cannot help but at least I can cut out the preservatives as we eat lunch meat everyday! These packages are 8 oz. each so that’s 1/2 pound so 2 packages for $5.00 total is a pound of meat! Nearly all the deli meats at the counter contain the preservatives.
