If you shop at HEB, I am sure that you have noticed that the store if full of those yellow hanging coupons. They look like they should be store coupons right? A few are but the majority are manufacturer coupons. You will know that it is a manufacturer coupon because it has the “M” in the lower left corner.

Every now and then, but so often are the same yellow coupons, but these have a “B” in the lower left corner, like the ones above. These are HEB store coupons and CAN be combined with manufacturer coupons!

You can see a copy of the HEB coupon policy HERE.

H-E-B accepts the following types of coupons:

  • Manufacturer issued coupons obtained from printed publications (newspaper, FSI, magazines, etc)
  • H-E-B Issued coupons
    • Manufacturer-sponsored coupons (Type M coupon; has an ‘M’ in bottom left corner)
    • Store-sponsored coupons (Type S Coupon; has an ‘S’ in the bottom left corner)
    • Big Savings coupons (Type B coupons; has a ‘B’ in the bottom left corner)
    • The above mentioned H-E-B issued coupons are typically
      • Available at store level and typically yellow in color
    • Combining a manufacturer issued coupon with an H-E-B issued manufacturer coupon (Type M) on the same item is not permitted
    • H-E-B will combine store sponsored yellow coupons with manufacturer coupons for the same product
      • One (1) manufacturer issued coupon and one (1) H-E-B issued Store-sponsored (Type S)
      • One (1) manufacturer issued coupon and one (1) H-E-B issued Big Savings coupon (Type B)

Clear as mud right!?

Shopping at HEB is easy. If you do not have any coupons it is the place to go, they have so many in the store you can always save about 25% without trying!

Can I find a list of all HEB yellow coupons (both M and B) to be prepared before heading down to HEB? Thanks!

Yesterday I went to HEB and thought I was going to get a killer deal on cereal and fruit rollups but that was not the case as you are talking about. The cereal had pink coupons with M on them which you can not combined just as it states in policy….same with fruit rollups. Are the HEB’s all different with their yellow and pink coupons?

I live in Corpus Christi and all we have are HEB grocery stores. Theres like 12 of them but, we have no other grocery stores here. All my coupon friends and myself HATE HEB because there are never any good sales or deals. And, with no competition why would there be. About 10 years ago there was 2 Albertsons but HEB undercut their prices and ran them out of town. Now that they’re the only show in town they have raised their prices and instead of having items on sale so that we could combine a coupon with a low sale price, they just put out their stupid yellow coupons and with that we rarely find good deals. As much as I and many others dislike HEB we all have to shop there, we have no choice. Some competition would be soooo welcomed.

I live in Corpus Christi too. HEB is the pits. It is very hard to find deals here but there’s hope on the horizon. 3 new walmart are opening this week but their prices are about the same. I’m actually considering a trip to Houston to shop at a different store.
