My favorite thing about fall is reading the book:
Now It's Fall by Lois Lenski
pumpkin cookies and cream cheese frosting
1 cup shortening
3 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 cups pumpkin
2 tsp. vanilla
5 cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
Combine wet ingredients in a mixing bowl. Combine dry ingredients in another mixing bowl. Add dry ingredients to wet and mix well until combined. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto cookie sheet and bake at 400 degrees for approx. 9-10 minutes
Frosting
3 ounces cream cheese
1/2 cup butter
1 box (16 oz.) powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
Cream together cream cheese and butter, slowly add powdered sugar and mix until combined well and frosting is creamy. Add vanilla mix in well and frost the cooled cookies.
I love the cooler temperatures!! Here in TX, it takes a little longer to get there, but it is such a relief after the summer!
And a yummy and easy dessert–who doesn't like pumpkin?

Fall is all about colors. We love to go hiking during the weekends.
My favorite thing about fall is the cooler weather! Now wait a minute, I didn't say cool, I said cooler. Here in Texas we don't get much cool weather so we have learned to appreciate the COOLER weather.
There are so many things that I love about Fall….the changing colors of the leaves, crisp sunny days, sweatshirt weather, going to the pumpkin patch with my kids, Fall Festivals….etc!!
