CLOSED!
First, let me say, I bought these for me. As an anniversary present to myself.
I am not going to tell you how much they cost because my husband occasionally
looks at my blog.
But, it could possibly cause a divorce.

This is why I am giving them to one of you lucky readers, after you pry them from my hands.
I have VERY small earring holes in my ears. It is really hard to find earrings that fit me. I knew that and took a chance with these because I LOVED them sooooo much.
Why do I have small earring holes you ask?
I know you weren’t going to ask, but I am going to tell you.
Because my Mother pierced my ears when I was 12, sitting at our kitchen table. She used a can of cold Coke, a needle, thread and a potato. After she numbed my ears with the cold Coke she put the potato behind my ears and poked the needle through with the thread attached. When the thread was through, she cut it off the needle and tied the thread into a little loop that was an earring of sorts for a few weeks. Every day I would put rubbing alcohol on it and twist the thread around so it wouldn’t grow back over the thread.
This is why I have small holes.
And why I am now giving away these gorgeous earrings that I can’t wear.

So here is the lowdown on what they are made of…

Sterling silver wire, hand formed and wire wrapped with fine

silver.

At the bottom of the hoops, hangs off a combination of garnet, turquoise and carnelian, all tied with sterlig silver
wirework.

The earrings are approx’ 1.7″(4.5cm).

The Metals -
sterling silver 92.5%
fine silver 99.9%

I was the same age as you, 12. My mom and grandma took me to a department store near our house called Fedco. I remember them looking around at alarm clocks, to stall I think, then walked me over and had me watch them do another girl. They asked if I wanted to do it, I did!

My Mom took me when I was 6 months or so and got mine pierced. Now when me and my husband got married at the J.P. we decided to go goof off that day and I wanted to get a second hole done, so I went for it, I was a month shy of 21. That was th emost painful thing! I cried, and recieved a lolly pop. *lol* My holes ended up rejecting earrings and grew up, so I just have the orginal ones now, and I'm ok with it. *lol*

I'm not ashamed to say that I have never had my ears pierced. I am in my early 30s. I am now considering having them pierced though due to all of the lovely earrings my grandma keeps giving me, since I don't have the heart to tell her they aren't pierced. :)

I was 13 and my Mom pierced my ears in our kitchen at home. She used ice, a potato and needle. I guess I should thank her for using straw from the broom instead of thread as I don't have small holes. But boy was it embarrassing to have straws sticking out of each ear lobe. Atleast I had long hair to cover them my sister didn't. I used to pull the ends of my hair to the front and hold them. I didn't want a wind to come up and everyone see. And of course she didn't wait until a break from school. I wanted them pierced so bad that I didn't think of what was going to happen after. lol

I can wear any size earrings (she picked the biggest straw out of the broom lol) but I'm alergic to earrings that don't use silver or real gold. I get an infection in my ears after wearing a pair of cheap ones for 3 hrs. I'd love to win these, sounds like they'd be perfect and I could wear them for as long as I wanted. :o )

Thank you for this opportunity and sharing your story! I'm glad I'm not alone in the cold, potato home method. :o )

I got my ears pierced when I was 7. It was with my two older sisters. We all got them pierced at the same time. It was when big hair was really in and I was really trying to sport some big hair and I got my ears pierced. I still have the earings I got them pierced in. My ears where sensitive from the beginning. I can only wear real metals in my ear. I thought it was pretty painful because it was with the gun. Of course the sound probably scared me worse than the pain. Now I'm almost 30 and I have 3 more piercings in my ears. :-)

I am embarrassed to admit this, but I didn't get my ears pierced until I was 30! I was a scared little ninnie, and thought I'd just wear clamp earrings, like my mom. Turns out they were extremely painful, so I rarely wore anything for a long time. But the piercings let me wear the long dangles I loved…like these. Thanks for making such a generous gesture!

I had my daughter's ears pierced when she was 6 months old. After the Dr. did the first one and she started crying, so did I. I took her out of his arms and was leaving the office when my husband had to talk me into having the other ear done. She quit crying by the time we got to our car…but not me. I cried the whole day! She is now nineteen and still wears earrings.

I did my second set of earring holes at home as well…I wasn't allowed, so I snuck it. A needle and an ice cube…what fun. I don't even wear earrrings in those holes anymore. But I sure would love these earrings!

Believe it or not…I got my ears pierced when I was 36! I got them the day we took my 6 month old daughter in, so we both got the same ones! This way I would have no problem remembering to clean hers along with mine!

I had to wait till I was in 7th grade and we went to the fancy jewelry store in the next town. Guess Mom wanted to make sure they were done right. When I was in college I got a second one in my left ear, courtesy of a roommate using an apple!! Love the earrings…

I got mine pierced at 12, by an older neighbor woman. She numbed my ears with ice, used the potato in back and a needle. I had to hide it from my dad for awhile, but mom knew about it, she just didn't have the nerve to pierce them for me. I just found your blog and am enjoying it!

This is Evelyn: I was about 74 yr old and went down to the Mall. I think I went with Micheale to get them pierced. I hope I win.

Hmmm, who talked me into that (getting my ears pierced)?

I was eight years old and we just moved to Houston from Utah. I was in a new school, had new friends and life was great until I got the dreaded head lice. My hair, which was at the top of my bottom was cut out of desperation by my father, who was not a hairdresser by any means. My new haircut looked like something you'd see Dorothy Hamill wear and my Dad was the most devastated. Our family rule was that I could get my ears pierced when I turned twelve. My Dad, who was normally very strict about these things, talked to my Mom and they decided to make an exception to the earring rule.
So, I went to the mall and got them pierced. I don't remember actually getting them pierced, just the fact that the lady who did it told me to count to ten, but she pulled the earring gun trigger at five. I just recall feeling physical shock for the first time in my life.

Beautiful earrings, BTW!

I think I was about 10 years old and got them pierced at Wal-mart. I was sick to my stomach the whole way home afterward. My dad still teases me about it and I'm almost 30!

Pierced when I was in 2nd grade for my 8th birthday at the mall. I was so excited.

So your small holes – can't you just re-pierce them the correct way and the hole will be bigger? Or let them close up and then re-pierce them. Or is that ridiculous and not possible??:)
