Right now, I store my canned goods on a old plywood book shelf that I bought at a second hand store for $15. Its old and doesn’t look pretty, but it’s sturdy. The only problem is it only has 3 shelves. This can organizer will be the first step in helping me convert my extra bedroom into my stock room for my goods.

I subscribe!! My can storage is awful, I dont have an actual pantry so I use one of my extra cabinets. I try to keep it organized but eventually someone in my house ends up just tossing the cans in there and it’s a mess all over again.
Ashley says
I want one of these sooo bad! Currently, cans are being stored in a kitchen cabinet, across shelves in the master bedroom, and finally (in a display of classiness) on shelves built of crown molding laying across the doorway of the water heater closet. Unfortunately, we can’t put backing on it or it will cut off the air flow, so my toddler likes to get in there and knock the cans on thru.
wendy bronkema says
My cans are in my laundry room on a bookshelf! HELP!!!
Robin says
My cans and what not are piled in the pantry – in bags on the floor or shelf, on top of one another, and any other empty space I might be able to find. This shelf would help out and clear up some space!

Tiffany, What a Super Fantastic Give Away!! I currently store my canned food in a small pantry along with all my other food. It is very difficult to rotate the food and I often find that some of the food goes bad. I would love to be able to efficiently store all my canned foods and with the added bonus you pointed out of my kids being able to put all the groceries away, it sounds perfect! My husband leaves on his second army deployment to Afghanistan Aug. 17 so anything that makes life simpler would be fantastic!! Again, thanks for all that you do!

SWOOOOONNNN! Is it sick that I am in love with this can storage system? I am having a physical reaction just thinking about owning one of these. I store my cans the old fashioned way…in the pantry (and now overflowing to other odd places in my home!) WOW! Keeping my fingers and toes crossed 🙂

Rebecca says
Right now, my cans are stored on the floor of my “pantry” and filing up! I can’t put them on the shelves because they are too heavy; the shelves bend in the middle. Hence, the reason for the floor storage.
My 2-year-old son thinks that this means they are free for him to play with, so we end up with cans of soup/veggies/tomatoes/etc all over the house. (He “feeds” them to his stuffed animals). Although this is really cute, and great for his imagination, he does not put them away when he is done.
This food storage rack would go PERFECTLY in the garage and our son would not have access to our canned goods anymore. Very appropriate!

We live in a small, on-base housing townhouse. Our kitchen is tiny and there is no “pantry!” Therefore kitchen items and food is stored everywhere. We have a few sterilite five shelf shelving units (sitting on the landings of the stairs or directly in the kitchen), but putting cans on them can be risky as the shelves start to bend. Which is why we are storing our cans in boxes, in our bedroom. They stack basically as high as the door to the closet. I keep about four cans of each type out and have my husband replace it when I use them. He loves that! :/ Receiving this storage unit would be awesome!! Thank you so much for the opportunity to your great giveaways!

WOW!!! This is the 1 question I asked at the coupon class–Where did you get your shelf? I stock my canned goods along with everything else in the pantry, laundry room and some other (cheaper) shelves I bought and they sit out in my kitchen. I have been told I could open up an mini mart, just need a gas pump. I don’t have that much, but compared to ppl that shop more expensively, it overwhelms them lol. I would love to win this!!!!!!!!!!

I love the way that the cans roll when you add to the stockpile so you get to use the older cans first. In the past, I’ve stockpiled under the bed, in cabinets with doors in the living room, and any place I could in the kitchen. Thanks for the give away!

I am a subscriber. I just started couponing in April 2011. I store canned good items in my small pantry area shared with washer/dryer off side of kitchen. I store other items by locking them in tool boxes in my bedroom. I have 8 kids in my house—they get into everything. So far, they eat as soon as I enter the house with items.—(I just thought I could stockpile) My boxes have slowly filled up and now I am reinventing new areas to hide from the children. Thanks for all that you do in helping me save money, time, and stress.

I live in a one bedroom apartment with my boyfriend. The apartment is part of a building that used to be one big family house. We live in the downstairs apartment and have a phantom staircase in the closet in the living room, which used to be the access to the upstairs when it was a full house. Not only do I keep my cans in there, but it’s my pantry and stockpile as well, because the kitchen and other rooms are too small to store things in. The staircase is full with cans and boxes of food but doesn’t have room for the bathroom essentials I stockpile, I have to keep those under my bed. 😀

What a wonderful giveaway. First and for most, thank you for the opportunity to win this. Canned foods…. hmmmmmm… if I looked throughout my home the are scattered in all areas… closets, cabinets, laundry room, bathrooms…. I have run out of space. My house is like a mad house, however we are prepared for anything. I also keep stockpile at my mother and mother-in-laws house as well. This way, I have storage for them and helping them out as well… grab and go. What a wonderful gift this would be to not only organize but have family come to MY house opposed to always going to their house. It’s amazing how couponing can bring families together!

I’m currently storing my food stockpile in my pantry which is pretty large, but it isn’t very organized, some items have been stacked on the floor and it’s tough to always find want I’m looking for quickly. The shelf looks great not only for organization but because it would rotate the stock and ensure that we weren’t piling new stuff in front of the old.

I started couponing a little over a month and a half ago and cans are in my pantry (otherwise known as my hall closet that we put shelves in..lol..). Toiletries are put in the shopping bags that we bought them in and tied closed and gently placed in the other SUPER tiny hall closet (i.e. thrown in and the door slammed shut so that toiletry mountain does not crash down all around us..), and the rest of the food is put on a storage rack next to the washer. Hey, my stockpile is rapidly growing while my house is not..lol.. There are 3 people, 2 great danes, and 2 cats in a little less than 1,000 square feet, so we stockpile where ever we can..lol..
So, that’s why I need dedicated can storage.lol.. Plus I have always thought the can organizers were awesome.. When we (my husband and SON, yes I said son) saw your episode we were both so excited to see one of those racks. I have wanted one for years, pre-stockpiling..Guess I was always a stockpiler at heart..lol..

Currently, I’m stacking some cans in a sorter which is way too small. Consequently, the cans are piled way too high, and I’m afraid I’m damaging the sorter. Other cans are stacked in the pantry on lower shelves; and when there are cans of something one child considers his favorite, those cans tend to get hidden behind other things . . . then I’m disappointed when my neat rows disappear!

OK, so it’s more like…where DON’T I store my cans, jars, etc. They are under beds, in closets, in every spot I can think of. Most recently, under my school desk. I keep kicking them, though! 🙂 I looooove thrive foods and shelf reliance, just can’t seem to find it in the budget to get a shelving unit.
Susan Ramsay says
I’m currently storing all the canned goods in the pantry. It’s a pain in the butt because they keep getting knocked over or some get loss. I recently cleaned out the pantry and I found a can buried that was from 2004! Yuck!

1. I’m a new newsletter subscriber in Utah.
2. We currently keep our canned goods stacked in rows about four high, on top of two folding buffet tables in our basement.
On top of the cans are plastic grocery sacks full of boxed pasta, rice, cereal, and snacks we scored free with coupons over the past year.
To help our kids find the can they need, we tell them what table we think it’s on and what kind of food it might be under.
They’d really appreciate a can rotation system – and so would we!
