America’s Best Idea – the national parks – gets even better this summer with threefee-free weekends at more than 100 national parks that usually charge entrance fees*.
Mark your calendars for fee-free weekends this summer:
- June 20-21, 2009 (Father’s Day weekend)
- July 18-19, 2009
- August 15-16, 2009
And to make the fun even more affordable, many national park concessioners are joining the National Park Service in welcoming visitors on this summer’s fee free weekends with the their own special offers.
Here’s a tip – many national parks never charge an entrance fee, so you can plan inexpensive visits year round!

Part comedian, part Dad, part athlete. He will boss around your children while they play ball.
Just as angelic as she looks, this girl could easily raise a Village by herself, and all the children would grow up to be President.
Self proclaimed, she would be a webkinz dog. Because, "they're cute, and puppies are too. And they're sweet and they always get along with other puppies."
This mini-Martha Stewart can handle ANY craft you send her way. She isn't all bows and rainbows, she's got karate kid moves!
Not "Pick-Me-Up" like caffeine, she wants you to pick her up! AND NOW!
Anything that can be destroyed WILL be destroyed!
Practically Perfect in Every Way for now! Nicknamed "The Panda" she is rolly polly and lives by the motto, "the little one, is KING!"
The resident Labradoodle, Miller got his name because Mom won and got to name the baby! Need something chewed up? He'll take care of it. Especially if it's expensive..
This is a great offer. We have made it a point to take the kids to as many National Parks as we can depending on where we are living at the time because they really are beautiful. A few years ago we went for Thanksgiving week to New Mexico. We went to Bandelier NP and it was AWESOME…favorite NP to date!! The Tsankawi ruins is an unexcavated area where there is still pottery on the ground..everywhere you look. There are many interesting trails with cave dwellings and paintings. The kids loved all of the different trails because they ALL involve climbing wooden ladders….some quite high I might add. This is really a must go if anyone is in the area or planning a trip! We ended up going back for a second day and ditching another plan because it was so much fun.
Oh my goodness we went there as little kids, I barely remember that! I am going to post your comments if you don't mind. I'd like to take my kids back there!
I don't mind. It is such a great place to go with kids:)
Your wonderful! Just talking about this today with a friend and researching which ones was on my "To Do" list for tonight, and now I don't have to, thank you :0)
We are off to Bandelier in August it is our Cub Scout Pack Campout. Next time you come to NM you will have to let me know you will have to swing by for tea!!!!
