If you’re new to walgreens read my Walgreens 101 before heading out to the store. See all this weeks deals and coupons here. This week I’ll be doing a scenario for the points, remember you wont earn points on items if you use your points to purchase them.
How are you adjusting to the new points system at walgreens? Are you saving your points up or using them as you earn them? I haven’t decided what the best way to benefit from the change, I want to hear what you guys think about it!
In this points scenario you will spend $3.76 + tax, save $14, get $17.76 worth in products and earn $4 in register reward!

I am so burning mad! I went to one of our Walgreens to score some of these great deals but they were out of one of the products so I had to go to the other Walgreens (which I really try to stay out of because they are a little rude). I found my missing item and headed to the register. The woman who was ringing me up could not figure out how to use my rewards card (seriously!?!). She called the assistant manager over for help and he informed me that I could not use my printed coupons because they were photo copies and obviously fakes! He said they only take color printable coupons to avoid fraud. I explained that had these been copies they would have said void in the expiration date and it is just as easy to copy a coupon in color so what difference does that make. I also explained that Walgreens coupon policy is very clear about printable coupons and color copies is not one of the criteria! He didn’t care and refused to use my coupons so I stormed out. I came home and immediately called 1-800-WALGREENS. So now I have to wait for someone in upper management to call and meanwhile they will probably sell the items I wanted to buy since there were only 2 left!!! Grrrrr! All I can say is once CVS finishes construction, I won’t be shopping at Walgreens any more!!!
