Lego Cookies Recipe

This past August my little son had a Lego Party with his friends. It wasn’t his birthday, it was just a “summer is almost over” party that we let him invite a few friends over for.

With a bunch of kids, this is not something we do often… have a party for no reason, but I had been making cookies and mentioned that they looked like Legos and it went from there! Plus, it really didn’t cost me anything and my son was so thrilled!

I made both chocolate and vanilla cookies. Both recipes had me chill the dough before rolling out which really helps cutting them out. I didn’t have a cookie cutter, I just used a knife and cut “Lego” shapes.

Bake them according to directions, but on the vanilla ones, I personally don’t let them get brown, I like the soft and chewy sugar cookies.

I made 4 colors of frosting and a batch of chocolate frosting. Recipe HERE.

I recruited children and had them take regular M&M’s, turn them upside down so the M&M wasn’t showing and they placed them on the cookies to give the Lego effect.

My kitchen counters were covered with cookies! It was really pretty!

This cost me some butter, flour, sugar and a bag of M&M’s. The fun my kids had and how good these were was soooo worth it! Eating a decorated cookies make you smile!

this is a GREAT idea! My kids’ birthday parties aren’t until summer but I’ll have to remember this fun idea! Thanks for sharing. :)
