Ok so there is an unadvertised FREE deal as part of the mega event at Kroger.
There were rumors that some regions had the Rice A Roni as part of the mega event, but when we first looked it was only part of the cart buster event. WELL IT IS PART OF THE MEGA EVENT, just NOT marked!
The first time you buy them I want you to know you are at your own risk! LOL! I am sure there is the possibility that they are just not in your store. But we went to 2 different stores and sure enough, they were not marked but both time printed a $5 catalina when I bought 5! Since they are on sale for $1 each that makes them free!
Let us know how it goes for you, for some reason if a catalina does not print for you, remember that you can return them.

This did not work for me. I bought 5 6.2oz boxes. The flavors were fried rice, chicken & garlic & long grain & wild rice. What flavors did you buy?

I bought broccoli, 4 cheese & beef they all worked for me between my mom and I we got 35 boxes

Just got back from kroger in spring Champion Forest after doing 1 trans of cake mixes potatoes & cookie dough where I rolled 10 in cats I tested 5 rice a roni it worked !I went back & got 10 more free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! & 10 more in catalinas

I did chicken and beef Rice A Roni and worked fine for me. Kroger Alden Bridge. They had a sign up though that you can no longer roll the catalinas!
I did the deal at Kroger (Eldridge and Briarforest) on Rice a Roni chicken flavor worked just fine. I also went to Kroger ( Dairy Ashford and Briarforest) for the Pasta Roni Chicken and Broccoli and that deal worked as well.
What size box (the big or small) is everyone buying that IS producting the $5 catalina?

Thanks so much for the heads up on this. Just got back from my Krogers and it did work. I bought the chicken, Broccoli, beef and Wild rice. Bought 10 got 2 $5.00 catalinas and used my catalinas to purchase it .
I bought five brocolli rice a roni’s and received a catalina.
I got the broccoli au gratin, beef, chicken and wild rice… It worked!!
The boxes were different weight sizes…
Thank you sooo much for posting this, it worked for me and I never would have tried it without you posting. The best part is the PASTA Roni DID work for me! I’m so thrilled since my husband loves the Parmesan cheese one. Here are the flavors that worked for me here in Houston suburbs:

The only one I tried that did NOT work was the Rice Roni Mexican.
I wanted to do it like 10 times but I limited myself to just 5, for now…LOL
I tried all of the flavors Harmony listed at the Kroger on Aldine Mail Rt. and 59 and they worked! Did transactions of 15 at a time, popped out my 3 catalinas back. Thank you!!!
Also, I’ve been doing the transactions at the UScan self-checkouts so that I don’t tie up the lines as much, and when I go to the attendant to hand in my coupons I let them know how many more transactions I have coming and tell them thank you (even though it’s their job) for being patient with me! Lord knows it’s not fun when these things get complicated, last thing I want is a grouchy cashier.

Each time I’ve been to Krogers they are out of stock. Does anyone know if they give rain checks, if so would I still get the catalinas when they got the stock in?
Also does anyone know if you can use more than one catalina coupon when paying for the next transaction?

One last thing, yesterday when purchasing potatoes at the West Gray/River Oaks Kroger.. as I was leaving and after the fact, they told me that next time they could only accept one catalina per purchase. They didn’t limit the amount of transactions I could do, but just one catalina every time I buy. And I am perfectly fine doing 5 at a time if that’s what will make them free. They said it was on the back of the coupon.. which I haven’t yet read.. just an FYI. Not all Krogers are enforcing this obviously. West Gray just kept looking at me like I was robbing them. Makes for an uncomfortable shopping experience, but you gotta do what you gotta do.
Did you try to buy the Roni there? Did you get the Catalina?
I wish i had read Harmony’s comment before shopping! It did not work for me in Missouri city store:( BUT i had Mexican rice in my order, which Harmony commented is 1 of the flavors that doesn’t work. If my 2 year old isn’t still sick tomorrow, i will try again:) thanks for the post tiffany!
Does anyone know if this is working anywhere on the south side near clear lake/league city/dickinson? I have been to 3 stores and it has not worked at any of them…
Hey I found one in my area at I-45 south and Fm 518 (main st) in League city. It worked for wild rice, beef and chicken. My bill was 20.00 and i used 4 catalinas so my total was ZERO and i walked away with 4 catalinas as well.

I only bought the varieties which everyone said would work on the Rice and Pasta. Got all the cats that I was suppose to at all stores in the Woodlands, except at Alden Bridge. The green light was on and after the transaction – it started blinking, but then went back to solid green again without printing. I tried to tell them that it was jammed or something, but they looked at my receipt and nothing had a “c” next to it, so they said that I didn’t buy anything that would give me the catalina. I returned the 10 items to customer service.
So I just went back and tried other flavors, here is the running list, including Harmony’s list.

Can anyone confirm if these are still working today? I want to go in about an hour. Also, are we still able to roll the catalinas? I was able to do the Rice a roni deal yesterday in Phoenix, AZ and roll them too.
