Going gf is a tough road. It comes down to personal flavor preference on most products. Just wanted to give you a mom note, most gf products in the stores use rice flour as main ingredient. This can lead to constipation.
My mom is on a gluten free diet. It is expensive to maintain but well worth it for her. She uses Vitacost and Abe’s Market alot since she is in a smaller town and doesn’t have a lot of choices.
The easiest way to be gluten free is to stick to whole foods, just eat/shop from the perimeter of the store and use potatoes, rice, beans and corn when you would have used bread or pasta, rice noodles are great as long as you remember to stir frequently and don’t over cook. Processed GF foods often contain more sugar and fats to enhance flavor. sites like glutenfreecookingschool.com, glutenfreemommy and glutenfreegirl are sites I like to visit but, usually I google the item I want to make with the tag gluten free and look at all the options that come up because everyone has their own way to rework a recipe and some ideas work/taste better than others.
Awesome advice!
