You might have heard about a horrible and tragic even that happened here in Houston last night to the Stay Family. This entire family, but the oldest daughter Cassidy on the left was murdered Wednesday night in their home by an ex-uncle.
I have not been able to think about anything else for the past 24 hours.
If you want to do something and want to make sure that where you are donating or helping is legit, I put together a few resources.

The stake is doing a collection for the battered womens shelter. Katie had been talking a lot about supporting this cause. Boxes are in the stake center at 16331 Hafer Rd off 1960. They are looking for toiletries and crayons, coloring books, etc. It’d be great to get these boxes filled!

I thank you for this post, Tiffany. The whole nation I believe is so terribly saddened by this horrible situation. For it to have happened so close to us makes it all the more disturbing. I grew up in Enchanted Oaks. I rode my bike to school (Lemm) everyday. The people in this subdivision are very close and this turn out is sure to be huge. I want nothing more than attend, in honor of this beautiful family, just wondering if it is going to be even possible to attend with the turnout for all the others doing the same. I think I’ll be planning a very early start tomorrow morning.

Wow Anne, I didn’t know you were so close. It is such a beautiful neighborhood.Yes I would go early, let me know how it is, sadly we can’t make it/ 🙁
Anne says
Yes, it had been nothing but happy memories there. Mind you, that was 1981-1989 (39 now and living in Conroe). Anyhow, I’m going to speak more with my husband, but starting to think I may not after all. He said that with as large of a community this has become and with the press and all….. probably would not be able to get close enough. This is just all so sad.

So devastating!
I can only imagine what this poor child must be experiencing. Love and hugs to her and the rest of their family.

I would update but the Facebook page is closed now, and so I can’t get any current information.
I understand it is probably a busy page at this point, but you just needed moderators and not to change the privacy.
The problem is that a lot of people were making plans to support family and friends and can’t get the info now 🙁
