It is nice when I see a few organic printables. I like to buy organic when I can and I figure that if I save money in other places I can afford to pay a little extra. But, with coupons sometimes that are cheaper!

There is a $1 off Olivia’s Organics Salads. I used 16214 to find it.

There is also still the $.75 off Newmans Own salad dressing coupon, this makes great salad dressing and in my opinion better marinade! I think this one can be found under any zip!

It is fun that this is the 3rd year I have posted this! On Monday, 7-11, the store 7 Eleven will be giving away free Slurpee’s all day! You can read more on their Facebook page about the event. Someone get one for me, we don’t have a 7 Eleven here and I love Slurpees 🙁

I get about 80% of my school supplies at Walmart. I am a BIG TIME price matcher with school supplies. When they have $.03 highlighters at other stores and are sold out, I always get them at Walmart by price matching!

Houston Chronicle – Subscription Update

You will not ever hear me complain about another company as much as I will about the Houston Chronicle, I violently HATE them. I am not joking. BUT, I have no choice as to purchase their paper as they are the only one in my area. I have tried for a year to work out a deal with them to get you guys more papers, at a better price, I gave up for a while and my friend Valerie took over! Valerie was able to secure the latest deal from them, but of course as typical of the Chron, there have been some problems…

I wanted to update you as to where we are with them and how you can make your experience better when ordering, because it is A GOOD DEAL.

I understand there has been a lot of problems and confusion on trying to get the current newspaper deal of $.50 per week ($26/year) for the Sunday paper.  So I wanted to clear up a few things as well as update you all on some bad information and customer service that has been happening.

First of all, the deal is as follows.

1 – You can order the Sunday paper for $.50 a paper ($26 per year)
2 – You can order up to 5 papers per address.
3 – This is for new AND current subscribers.  Current ones can add so they are receiving up to five papers.  (i.e. if you are receiving 2 already, you can add 3 more.)
4 – You will be charged for the full amount of the papers at once, not per week.  So if you order 5, your credit card will be charged $26 x 5 = $130.
5 – DO NOT CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE 713#, this deal is only good through the 855# and is NOT online.

If you were told that you could order up to 9, you did, and it worked, AWESOME!  We just set a number at 5 but some have paid for up to 9 and if you paid for them, then you should be receiving them.  This part sounds like a “if you were lucky and wanted” kind of deal, and if that was you, I am happy it worked for you.  Also, some have gotten one of there subscription for the whole week instead of just Sunday.  Again, I did not negotiate this part, but if they said you would, and you paid for it, that is great and I am happy for you.

Update on some bad information:

I have spoke with the head supervisor at the 855#, he is a very nice fellow and has been wonderful at helping me make sure that his reps have the correct information.  We just spoke again at 10:50 am Sunday morning, and he and I reviewed all the rules of our deal and he was going to make sure his reps answering the phone were up to date and ready to take our orders in a correct manner.  Please be sure when you call, that you state that you are calling about the coupon deal of the paper, remind them it is the $26 for a year of the Sunday paper for up to 5 papers.  Always be polite while letting them know, you understand the rules of this deal and know it is a good deal to order.  If you have problems, again be polite, and ask to speak with someone else.
A VERY WRONG piece of information, is to call customer service number 713.  They know nothing about this deal.  And even more false and inappropriate is they are stating that the bloggers are wrong and giving false information.  I have worked on this deal for 6 months, and it is not false at all.  I am not able to correct this information with them till 8 am on Monday morning, but I do have the contact info of whom I need to speak with, and there is no doubt I will be on the phone first thing Monday morning.
I pray hard that this has help a lot of confusion and even maybe given peace to those that have been treated incorrectly.  Again, my biggest apologizes to the trouble some have gone through.  This was supposed to be a money saving deal for those desiring more coupons, not an enormous headache.
