Sorry this is so late!  It’s been one of those weeks.  Finally, turkeys are on sale for Thanksgiving at 69¢/lb.  Philadelphia Cream Cheese is still a good deal at $1.25 without a coupon…Happy shopping!

It is quite a good week at Giant Eagle.  The best deals I see are on Philadelphia cream cheese, Old El Paso products, milk, cool whip, Garnier Fructis, Pringles (depending on the coupon), and starting on Sunday, Kleenex.  Check the list for details.  Happy shopping!

Another mediocre week at Giant Eagle.  If you need dog food, the Catalina deal combined with a coupon isn’t a bad deal.  Remember, 10¢ bonus fuel perks equals $3.00 in savings if you use all 30 gallons.  Happy shopping!

After a week with several decent deals last week, this is a slow week at Giant Eagle.  There are some deals on meat, if you need to stock up on that.  With the right coupons, the Pepsi 2 liter deal is a great one.  Also, the Lance sandwich crackers and Gold Peak Tea are a good deal.  In case you still haven’t seen it, here is a link to a post summarizing the updates in Giant Eagle’s coupon policy.  Happy shopping!

Giant Eagle seems to be doing more Fuel Perks deals than Catalina deals these days.    Remember, money spent on items with bonus fuel perks still counts towards your regular fuel perks total.  The best deals I see this week are Suave Professionals hair products, Totino’s party pizza, Fiber One bars and Dole Fruit Bowls.  If you haven’t already, check my post on Giant Eagle’s updated coupon policy here .  Happy shopping!

This past week, Giant Eagle rolled out their new coupon policy.  I have to say, I think the changes overall are fair.  There has been a backlash against some of the behaviors displayed on certain tv shows, which is prompting policy changes at many stores.  Here is a link to their new policy in its entirety.  When I was there this week, each register had a laminated copy of the new policy, and both cashiers and supervisors seemed to be under instruction to adhere closely to it.  I will highlight the key differences for you.  My comments are in blue.

• One coupon per item(s) purchased as stated on the coupon with a maximum of 12 coupons per same 12 items purchased in a 24-hour period per Giant Eagle Advantage Card^® customer.  This seems to be a reasonable limit and should help slow down the shelf clearing. 
• Stacking (combining electronic and paper coupons) of manufacturers’ coupons is prohibited.  This is the trickiest change.  Here’s the thing: EOffers are actually manufacturer’s coupons, just in an electronic format.  Many people, myself included, had always thought they were store coupons and could be stacked with manufacturer’s coupons.  THAT IS NOT THE CASE.  It is either/or.  And EOffers don’t double, and have a limit of one coupon, so I will be clearing all EOffers off my card.  EOffers have really only ever been a good deal in combination with manufacturer’s coupons and/or Catalinas.
• If you forget to use your coupons at the time of purchase, we will accept them with your Giant Eagle Advantage Card up to 10 days beyond the date on the receipt.  This is actually an increase from 7 days.
• A maximum of two “like” printable coupons will be accepted.  This seems pretty obviously geared towards preventing fraud by photocopying coupons.  Even if you have access to more than one computer, you can’t use more than two of any particular printable at a time.
• The doubled amount cannot exceed the value of the item purchased.  This isn’t a change necessarily, but the way the computers are doing it, apparently even if the coupon is  for, say 75¢/2, and each item is 99¢, the double value will max out at 99¢, which is the cost of a single item.

Let’s all play nice so that we can keep what really is, compared to many stores nationwide, a fair coupon policy. 

Here are the best deals I see this week…Milk @ $1.25 for a 1/2 gallon; Pillsbury Crescent and Sweet Rolls 80¢ after E Offer plus manufacturer coupon; Mrs. T’s Pierogies @ $1.50 per box after coupon; Dole Fruit Smoothie Shake @ only 17¢ after coupon; Betty Crocker C0okie Pouch Mix @ 80¢ after E Offer and coupon; and Hunt’s Pasta Sauce at 70¢ after coupon.  The Giant Eagle Pasta isn’t a bad deal after factoring in Fuel Perks (10¢ saves you $3.00 if you get all 30 gallons).   Happy Shopping!

There are some good deals to be found this week.  On the Kraft Catalina Deal, the $15 purchase requirement is based on the original shelf price, not the sale price.  So it would be a good time to stock up on cheese, even without coupons.  Also, many items have Giant Eagle E Offers on them (see here) that can be combined with manufacturer’s coupons.  Also, in health and beauty, Crest toothpaste is free after E Offer and coupon, and Reach floss is free after a doubled coupon.  In addition, Glade spray and solid room fresheners are $1 each, and you get a $2 Catalina wyb 2, so those are free after Catalina.   Happy shopping!

Wow, it is a very unimpressive week at Giant Eagle.  Eggs aren’t a bad deal at $1/dozen, and Sirloin Tip Roast is BOGO.  Remember, with meat, you must buy 2, and the less expensive package is free.  So you want to match the prices between the two packages as closely as you can.  Pillsbury Pie Crusts have an E Offer plus a manufacturer coupon, so you may want to pick those up to get ready for holiday baking.

Not a very exciting week at Giant Eagle.  Reynold’s Aluminum Foil is a pretty good deal, though.  Yoplait Splitz or Gogurt are a decent deal as well.
