Walgreens can be a very rewarding place to shop, but also very frustrating. For more help shopping at Walgreens go HERE and read my Walgreens 101.
I have been getting some emails lately about people not being able to use a coupon and get a RR (register reward) back. At least this is what they are being told by the cashiers. This is NOT true. You can use a coupon AND get a RR back.
If you need a little help to show your cashier, take a look in the Walgreens weekly ad this week. In the ad it clearly shows Walgreens promoting using a coupon and getting a RR back!
Walgreens is letting you know what coupon you can use in combination with their store sale.
Soooo, I think that makes it hard for a cashier who doesn’t know their stores coupon policy to tell you wrong information when it is printed right in front of them that you are able to do it.
I also wanted to comment on an issue that a reader had on Facebook. She was told by her cashier that she was not allowed to do more than 1 transaction in a day and use RR. This is not true either. I called corporate (to make sure nothing in the policy has changed) and they confirmed that this is not true, although the manager does have the right to limit quantities. They had the store manager give me a call and we had a chance to talk about it. Apparently, local corner store owners were cleaning them out of items and the store was frustrated and so they decided to tell everyone NO.
The manager and I agreed that it is fair for individuals to make multiple reasonable transactions and that they would no longer tell people no. Now, I don’t think that all is going to be smooth at that store all the time, but it is a good start. Sometimes you really do need to call and talk to a manager or corporate and see what can be done and what the policy allows.
