Over a month ago I purchased a .com name. I was worried about safety having our last name for everyone to see. My sister and I have have now spent about 150 hours between the two of us trying to get blogger to accept and transfer my blog to the .com. I am at the point of finally realizing I need help and that this is beyond what we can do. I have been trying to hire someone off the web but am having terrible luck getting anyone slightly ummm, should I say ‘normal’.
Soooo, are any of you, or your teenagers or your husbands technologically gifted? This problem I am having is above and beyond the normal blogger stuff, blogger says my new.com is already registered with someone else yada yada yada…. it goes on and on.
Please email me if you can recommend someone. This person needs to be able to accept paypal, cash, check, trade and possibly my first born if he doesn’t clean his room… not a money order from a specific convenience store and mailed on a Monday, I am not joking, this was the last guy I tried to hire.
Thank you, for any recommendations!

Okay, I don't know anyone. But, I was wondering who your .com is through. Mine is godaddy and they were very helpful. Email me if I can help… I just recently did this.

I was about to offer a very talented web designer that I use. I spoke to her and she said she had the same problems and ended up giving up. However she came across this link. We both wish you luck!
This is what she sent me

At the bottom of the above post are screen shots for step-by-step instructions. But she should be aware of some of the pitfalls when moving to a hosted domain.

You could talk to Dustin. He is the IT guy at his work and runs their website. I don't know if he knows how to get one up and going but I can ask him. Let me know.

Talk to Paul about it. He does all kinds of stuff like that for work, I'm sure he could help you out. I always ask him to help me if I have a computer issue.

Hey Tiff,
Bregelle was having the exact same problem with a blog she was doing some freelance work on and it just worked it or something, but we emailed godaddy.com about it. It started working within a couple of weeks. So, cross your fingers and keep hoping.

should be simple, blogger lets you do it inside the admin panel, you can always have people just type in the URL of the domain name and just have it redirect to your blogger domain.
Dont hesitate to email me if you need help, your site and ideas are great, Good JOB!
