Orange Julius is serving up free light smoothies on Friday, June 19, 2009. The only catch to snag this freebie? You need to have a coupon.

Go here to print your coupon for a free 20 oz. Light Smoothie on June 19, 2009. Flavors offered are Strawberry Delight, Tropical Sunlight, and Berry-Pom Twilight.

From what I understand, they are pulling this coupon off the website sometime in the next day, so if you are interested in getting free smoothies on Friday, be sure to go ahead and print as many coupons as you’ll need for your family.

As always, I recommend calling your store ahead of time to confirm they are participating in this promotion.

What are catalina’s?

This is a little video I took and forgot to ever post it. It was explaining a really good deal that a store in my area was having in May and how to take advantage of it. 
The first image is a photo of my purchase. I paid $40 far all of this and saved over $150. I also left with $12 in catalina’s for the next purchase. 
I am using it now to explain what catalina’s are. Catalina’s are the narrow coupons that are printed out separate from your receipt at the time of check out. I see people throw these away and never look at them. There are often high dollar coupons on them and many times they are actually giving you money back almost like ECB’s.

This image is actually the video. What I forgot to explain is that the deal at the store was buy $30 of selected items (3,000 of them) and get $10 back. I was rolling that $10 into my next purchase. So coming as close to $30 as I could. Giving them the $10 from the previous purchase and then giving them about $12 in coupons to walk out with each purchase costing me around $10. 

I always use coupons when I go to the store. But what I really wait for are the combination deals like the one that my Randall’s had above. This is when you save the killer money. All the time spent cutting coupons out and filing them becomes worth it when stores have the deals like this. Kroger stores have a mix and match sale about ever 3-4 months. I will about blow all my coupons during that week. But stock up for months, or even fill my years supply of things.
Where do I put it all? That is really another post….. But, here in the south we don’t have basements and the heat and bugs prevents you from storing anything in the garage. I also have a smaller older house so the closets are really small. I just get really creative! But it is worth it to only spend $400-$500 a month on food for 8 of us. 
Any creative storage ideas??

Today at 2:30 I decided it would be a good idea to drag all the kids to both Walmart and Target super stores. I had to have them at Tucker’s baseball practice by 5:30 dressed, fed dinner, and all the stuff packed for four hours at the ballpark in 100 degree heat. Needless to say I was in a hurry. We raced through Walmart and jumped in line at the first checkout closest to the door, you know line #1, the one next to the super fast self checkout.

I have a full overflowing cart and 6 children all in line also, when a woman, who looked exactly like the woman in the picture below, gets in line behind us with a single box of wheat thins. She was ranting and raving about something on the phone and was clearly in a hurry. I tried multiple times to get her attention and show her that I also had coupons to be rung up, along with the cart full of groceries, and to suggest she go over to one of the four open ‘fifteen or less items’ registers. But she refused to look at me.
When the cashier got to my coupons and started putting them in, the woman freaked out and snatched her crackers off the line knocking the gum rack down and marched over to the self check out yelling at me, VERY loudly.

I finished checking out and looked over to see that her box of crackers refused to be rung up and they had to call a manager to go get her another box…. So she ended up in line two people longer than if she had stayed behind me and was still freaking out. I hope her day got better!
From Walmart we raced to Target and and ran through the store trying to not loose a child, which was a miracle considering how packed the place was. I drug them out to the car, counted heads and raced home arriving at 5pm, just in time to throw them back in the car for the baseball game.
Above is everything I got completely FREE today! The only two things missing from my free stuff picture? The two gallons of milk that I got FREE and left on the bottom of my cart in the Target parking lot!

But the good thing is I called Target when I realized what I did and they told me to come in tomorrow with my receipt and they would give me two more gallons! It is a hassle to go back in but at least it was milk and not a child!

I have just enough self esteem left to share this story with y’all. Then after this I am done, no one look me in the eye I am just too embarrassed! The thing that I love the most about 3 year olds is their honesty. They don’t lie or beat around the bush, if they have something to say, they say it.

The following is a true story, it happened to me yesterday morning…

Because I am a Mother and have no privacy, as I was getting out of the shower my favorite 3 year old walked into my bathroom. I was drying myself off with a towel when I noticed her staring at me with a questionable look.

“What’s going on Storie?” I asked.

Staring straight at my breasts she says, “why are they so long?”

Speechless, I manage to mumble, “because I am a Mom.”

Without hesitation she replies, “you look like an elephant” and walks away.

So thats it. I look like an elephant and I have long breasts. I wanted to scream down the hall at her…  “yea well, hey there little girl, I just got done nursing for 11 years in a row, sometimes two children at a time and a few of you ungrateful children till you were two!” But I didn’t think she would care. The damage is done, I have no self esteem left!

Does anyone know a good plastic surgeon?
