So this is how our photo shoot went down.
The nicest woman from Sears portrait studios contacted me about a review and giveaway! Her name is Kim and she is a new Mom to a little daughter, high five Kim! 
Are you kidding, we would love to torture poor photo people, who came to work one day without knowing they would be in for. Photographing 6 kids is not easy, I promise you that!
I am usually not a fan of portrait studios, it really isn’t our ‘style’. But I was pleasantly surprised! We decided we wanted a casual summer family picture. Do you ever pick a family picture based on the one you look the best in? Regardless of what everyone else looks like? I’ll admit I do….

They were super friendly, not just to us to but everyone else that came in as well. They also were very fast and knew instantly how to position and pose a wiggly group of 8!
Obviously they had worked with kids and were able to get great pictures of even the baby, they posed all the big kids first and threw the little one in at the very end. Brilliant. 
They worked HARD to get this little girl to smile! We had to offer her money to make her smile, I am sure the photographer (who’s name was Tiffany, weird I remembered her name huh?) thinks we are strange, but this child is motivated by cash.
They can photoshop and add enhancements to all the pictures. Am I crazy or should this little boy be in magazines?
How fun was this picture, all the girls together. I LOVE it. Now I need to find a fun frame. 

The studio had a ton of props and were very accommodating. Every month they have a theme photo session. The next few coming up are a beach theme, followed by a 50’s sock hop and Harley. They provide all the props and costumes!! In September our studio is having a fairy theme session, I got to see the set. It was STUNNING! The fairy costumes were gorgeous and the set looked like a studio piece from a movie. We will be back in September! 
It was a fun experience, the staff was friendly and did a great job. They were professional and knew what they were doing especially with children which is hard to find, I was pleased.

I think he did a good job. I have $20 in gift cards still to Target which I can easily spend, and 2 $10 Kellogg’s fuel for school rebates that I will be sending in. I have to split it up and use my address and my Parent’s address for those.

P.S. I had a little trouble with my Target the other night trying to tell me that you can only use 1 like coupon in each transaction. I was buying 6 soaps and using 6 manufacturer coupons, they were saying that although I was buying 6 of the same item I could only use 1 coupon on them. I walked away from the register and up to customer service where they rang me up. When I got home I called corporate and explained what happened. They told me that my Target was obviously uninformed on the coupon policy, they apologized and gave me a reference number to call if I have any problems and they would speak to the store manager. They told me if it happened again to call from my cell phone right there in line. So if you ever have any problems please bring it up to corporate, they will take care of you.

Yesterday I was working at my desk when Storie excitedly called my name. 
“Mom, Mom, I did it , I did it! I put on a sock!” 
I spun around and saw her on the floor behind me. As I started to say, “Good job Storie” something hit me…. This was the first time she was ever doing something. We wear crocs here 11mo. out of the year. She has no reason to ever put on socks herself. 
All of a sudden it became really neat. 

It was really sweet watching her try and work the sock the right way.
It really took some maneuvering. 
But she finally got it.
Look how proud of herself she was. 
She is so beautiful. 
I promise that I am not under the influence of PMS in any way, putting on socks does not normally cause me to cry, but with little kids you often get to see them doing something you have done a thousand times, for the very first time. She will put on socks for the rest of her life, but yesterday I got to see it the very first time she ever did it herself. I got to see that look on her face when she finally got it on right…. I have to run, something is wrong with my computer screen, it is all blurry, I better go and hug the kids!

Make 5 FREE photo books at CVS this week!

Like I said up top, decide at home what your books will be. Gather anywhere from 10 to 50 pictures for each book. The books are 10 pages and 6×8 in size. You can add more pages but it costs you money. Edit your photos at home, reducing red eye and cropping, it is easier at home than on their machines. 

Now put your pictures on a disk or jump drive. I think you can use a sd card but I have not tried it. Take the disk to your store. By the photo center are kiosks from kodak, sit yourself down on one and follow the directions! Make sure you choose 6×8 photobook.
I made this one for Tucker’s All-Stars last year. You can add text and choose a theme for your pages.
You can choose the color for your backgrounds and arrange pictures. You have the ability to minimize and enlarge each photo.
I did a mini birth book for Rush. Poor 6th kid… he misses out on all that crafty stuff.
This book was a little one for Emma, the kids love having books of pictures of them! They have some really pretty backgrounds to choose from.
Only put the photos you want to use for this project on your disk so you don’t have to wade through a ton of other photos to get your book done. 
When you are satisfied with your book, hit submit and it will print right there for you. The photo lab person will assemble it for you, the whole process should take about 20-30min.
These are a lot of fun, so get your pictures together and get in there!
