Wow! This is really cool, there are Children’s theaters in my area that are doing show’s during the day, we are going!

On October 15, 2009, theaters from coast to coast will be offering a completely free night of theater. Online ticket reservations begin tomorrow (October 1, 2009) and tickets are limited so you’ll want to sign up right away.

Catalina didn’t print? This is what you do.

What to do when your Catalina does not print…

There is nothing more frustrating than doing a deal and your Catalina does not print. When this happens you have a few things that you can do.

When a Catalina does not print, ask the cashier… or head over to Customer Service. Get a Manager if you need to. Don’t be shy about it… Catalina’s can be really high value after all!

~ I always double check with an add if possible that I was supposed to get one.

If they don’t know or are less than helpful make a choice to either return the order completely (get your coupons back) or you can contact Catalina directly.

Catalina can be reached at 888-826-8766 and press 3. (Write this number in your phone book, trust me you’ll need it one day.)

They can look up the transaction by receipt and clubcard number.

I have found the folks at Catalina to be really helpful, last time I had a problem the store was offline and they mailed me my Catalinas.

~ What is a Catalina?
Catalina Category Marketing (CCM) rewards purchases of promoted products with “catalinas”, also known as “check-out coupons”. These offer incentives good on your next shopping trip to that retailer. There is usually a 4-week window on any given program/incentive promotion.

~ Are catalinas manufacturer’s coupons or store coupons?
Generally, they are manufacturer’s coupons, although occasionally one will state that it is a Store Coupon. The manufacturer’s coupon catalinas are not able to be combined with other manufacturer’s coupons.

In other words, if you have a catalina for $1.00/2 product X and also an insert coupon for $1.00/2, you would need to purchase 4 of the product in order to use both coupons.

Trouble printing coupons? Help is here!

Have you ever gone to print a coupons and it says, “Please wait” so you wait and wait and wait? Or you get a message that says you have already printed the coupon, and you know that you haven’t? Or, you have been asked to install the coupon printer over and over again? These are very common problems and they can be very frustrating.

It happens to me a bunch. One of the reasons why is that I am on a Mac, but it can happen to you even if you are using a PC. It is SUPER SIMPLE to fix.

Install coupon printing software. Some printable coupons require a small software download in order to print. This download is free, and I have never heard of any viruses associated with it. It could be possible that your browser settings are not configured properly to allow ActiveX items like the coupon printer to install. If you are using Windows XP, SP2, or Vista, a yellow information bar should appear at the top of your window. That bar can only appear if your security levels are set to “medium” and all ActiveX items are set to “prompt” or “enable”.

If your settings look right, it may be that a past encounter with another product has irreparably shut the prompt down for downloads like the coupon printer. When this is the case, switching to a new browser will give you a clean slate. This happened to me in Internet Explorer- so I downloaded Firefox- and now I have no problem printing coupons. www.mozilla.com/firefox. It will not replace Internet Explorer as your default browser if you don’t want it to. You can run both browsers on your computer (even at the same time).


Print coupons as quickly as possible. Many coupons have a print limit. Once that limit is reached, no more coupons will print, even if you haven’t yet printed any from your computer. Other coupons are limited to two prints per computer. To get a coupon to print twice simply hit the back arrow on your browser and the coupon should print again.

**The solution below happened to me today when I tried to print the Steam Fresh vegetable coupon in the post earlier. All I did was switch the 2 little letters and I was able to print! If you are on a MAC you must learn to do this!


Troubleshoot bricks coupons. A bricks coupon has a url that begins with “http://bricks.coupons.com/.” If you have issues printing bricks coupons, try changing a few letters in the url.

This is an example of a bricks coupon:

http://bricks.coupons.com/TAF.asp?tqnm=qhlsfqd69034230&bt=vg&o=57362&ci=1&c=GM&p=XpvIaUYe&tqnm=qhlsfqd69034230&cista=201.

The highlighted letters in the url are the letters you’ll need to change depending on the browser you use in order to make the coupon print.

Here are the letters you should use instead:

Firefox: wg or vg

Internet Explorer: vi or wi

Safari: xs

This is a screen shot I took of the steamers coupon I wanted to print, sorry I wish I could have made it larger, but if I had hit “print coupons” it would have given me the “please wait” notification.
All I did was change the 2 little letters in the browser, located where I wrote “Right Here” to xs for Safari the browser I use, and I was able to print it.

Randalls/Safeway is running a nice Catalina deal right now through Saturday, Oct 3. Buy 3 boxes of Kleenex, Get a Catalina for $3 off your next order.

The boxes look like the one pictured above: they are rectangular and have a flowered print. The box above says 120ct but the one I found that qualified actually had 110 2-ply tissues per box. Buy 3 boxes. Pay $2.97 and get a $3 Catalina for your next transaction. (Thanks Thrifty Mom!)

If you can hit up your store tomorrow (9/30) you can use the $.50/3 coupon in the SS 8/2. You will have to go tomorrow because the coupon expires 9/30. Plus, this should double at most stores.

If you don’t have that coupon, look for $.55/3 blinkies. These were in the Kleenex aisle at my Randalls tonight.

Here’s a breakdown of the deal:

Kleenex Tissue Boxes – $.99 each
-Use $.50/3 Kleenex coupon (SS 8/2)* OR
-Use $.55/3 Kleenex coupon (Blinkie)
-Get $3 OYNO Catalina WYB 3
Final Price = 3 Boxes FREE (+ up to $1 possible overage)
*Expires Wednesday 9/30.

You will have to pay out of pocket on the first transaction but on your next transaction, you can roll the Catalina. Just make sure you have something to offset the $.03 overage.
