My Advocare 24-day challenge came over the weekend! I ripped it open and wanted to get started right away, but I had to get things prepped first to make sure I started off on the right foot.
Advocare is doing a nationwide challenge starting on the 7th. Monday is a good day of me to start things, so I went ahead and got started this morning.
I posted a video HERE on Instagram and HERE in the Facebook group of how I mixed the fiber drink with Spark because people say it can be hard to drink and I remember it not being my favorite from 4 years ago. It wasn’t as bad as people have made it out to be 🙂
Yesterday, I prepped all our lunches for the next few days. As I was making them my high school kids got all excited thinking the lunches were for them…. How do you tell your kids, “sorry, I know it looks awesome, and I love that you want to eat good food, but these are just for your Dad and I” pretty much you can’t…. So, I ended up making about 12 lunches in less then an hour and now everyone has good food for lunch this week!
First, I baked a bunch of chicken breast seasoned with just Lawry’s. Then when it was cool, sliced it up.
Next, I grilled some Tilapia in my favorite grill pan ( which is on sale today for $25 down from $68 HERE) with again just some salt and pepper. Tilapia cooks super fast and is really good. Tilapia is very mild and even my kids love it, in fact the little ones think it is chicken.
I added the chicken and tilapia to my Easy Lunchboxes bento style, for this coming weeks lunches. That way Paul and I can just grab one and not be searching for something to eat. I made 12 total so the kids had some as well and it took me under an hour. The final cost on the lunches was also under $2 each lunch which is much better then $6 at McDonalds!
I was using regular Ziploc sectioned containers, but they were not holding up well and I could not microwave in them. I switched over the the Easy Lunchboxes and am so happy that I did! They are great quality, and are going to last a lot longer!
The eggs which are boiled and peeled came from Costco. I usually do these myself but saw them last time I was there and they were calling my name… so I took them home 🙂 I think it was $9 for 24.

Just as angelic as she looks, this girl could easily raise a Village by herself, and all the children would grow up to be President.

Holy cow almost $200 without additional items certainly incentive to stay on diet. Good luck the lunches look yummy!
I’ve been very interested in prepping lunches on a Sunday for the week. But I was curious as to if they stay fresh. How long do you say they, the fish and chicken, last in the fridge. How many days ahead do you prep?
THANKS!
I would eat them for about 3 days… my husband would for 5! I don’t add lettuce because I think it will wilt. So I only add that the day I am eating the meal. Fish lasts just as ling as chicken.
I actually would be very interested to see a tutorial on how to meal prep. 🙂
Great idea! I will do that this week!
Curious how you and Paul have come to like Advocare.
Considering a new challenge, So an update would be great!
Oh i really need to!!! I have been out of town so much I just didn’t get back to it! Thank you for the reminder!
