Walgreens Healthcare Clinic Visit in Houston

Have you had a chance to check out the Walgreens Healthcare Clinic in your area? Let me tell you why we just recently used the clinic in our area.

Paul and I are self employed and so we don’t have regular insurance. We just have a major medical plan, so any doctor’s visits come out of our pocket. This works for us as we rarely see a doctor.

Since school has started however, we have needed to get 4 kids physicals for sports at school. Our doctor is fairly reasonable at $75 an office visit which will include the physical. We were looking at $300 in physicals and I promise I had other places I needed to spend $300 then having my kids checked over so they could run around in PE class.

I am often in Walgreens and have seen the signage for the Walgreens Healthcare Clinics. It was actually Paul’s idea that we run the kids up to have the physicals done there. We went in without an appointment and were done in about an hour with all 4 kids done and paid $156.

Using the Walgreens Healthcare clinic saved us $144!!

The Walgreens Healthcare Clinics are open 7 days a week and nights. They are staffed by nurse practitioners (which is who we would have seen at my Dr. office) and are for any family members 18 months and up.

There was a waiting area right by the pharmacy  and although we did not have insurance they accept MOST insurance plans.
