Well, this is how we did. Filled about 30 feet of a 48 foot semi truck! You all are amazing! Had we taken clothing donations it would have been more then full, but those will have to wait.
There are a list of people who rocked this all week and today. Kroger kicked some serious butt by letting the truck park in their parking lot, they fed us, and handed out info. They truly were awesome and the nicest people in that Sterling Ridge store. The manager Eric, was so friendly and even set out carts ahead of time to block off the space for the truck. They let my kids play in the play place today for a few hours so they were not having to sit in the sun and run around a parking lot, which took such a weight off my shoulders. Kids loose in a parking lot is NOT my favorite.
You would think I would have remembered to apply the sunscreen more then once… I am dreading the shower I want to take right now from sweating all day. At some point you would think that natural disasters would be more considerate and happen when it is cool outside and not in the hot spring or like hurricanes in the Sept. when it is still miserable here! LOL!
We had reader Katie and her family drive up from Sealy with a truck and trailer full of items collected from their town. They also stayed and help for 2 hours load the truck.
Heather and her Mom drove in from Crockett just as we were leaving tonight with her VW bug PACKED FULL with donations. I have never seen so much come out of a bug before! She must be a master tetras player!
Today we had reader Amber help for a few hours and blogger Vickie and her friend for another 2 hours…. my sister who is pregnant showed up and “helped” by eating sushi in the parking lot and watching! Hopefully she doesn’t get sick!
Yesterday reader Mary and Maritza ( I know I spelled that wrong!) came up to help for a few hours and also the entire Bowen family got up early to take the first shift.
I can’t forget my friends who helped for 3 hours on Friday night separating and boxing all the donations brought to the church. The King family, Shasta Howard’s family and Lindie Markle + her kids!
Finally, Samantha M. for busting her butt all week getting donations from vendors at her work and getting us all the boxes, tape and water!
Also, whoever set up the truck to be at the Sterling Ridge Kroger was brilliant, just saying… people would walk up ask what we needed, and come back with a CART full! I had 2 ladies walk up and write checks for $300 and $200 each. AMAZING!!!! We collected almost $1,000 dollars to buy the bigger things like shovels, rakes and cleaning up tools. PLUS, with another $250 from Savings.com (who without being asked sent a gift card to my house! Unbelievably cool!) we were able to help buy towels, blankets, coloring books, crayons, water, Gatorade, wrapped snacks, gloves, brooms, and 2 kids bikes. Checks were made out to “Week of Compassion” and handed to the Pastor here who is overnighting them to the Pastor in OK who has certain families who need some help. It was really cool!
I am exhausted and heading to the shower where I am going to freak out because there was someone I forgot to thank! Please forgive me for the time being!

Part comedian, part Dad, part athlete. He will boss around your children while they play ball.
Just as angelic as she looks, this girl could easily raise a Village by herself, and all the children would grow up to be President.
Self proclaimed, she would be a webkinz dog. Because, "they're cute, and puppies are too. And they're sweet and they always get along with other puppies."
This mini-Martha Stewart can handle ANY craft you send her way. She isn't all bows and rainbows, she's got karate kid moves!
Not "Pick-Me-Up" like caffeine, she wants you to pick her up! AND NOW!
Anything that can be destroyed WILL be destroyed!
Practically Perfect in Every Way for now! Nicknamed "The Panda" she is rolly polly and lives by the motto, "the little one, is KING!"
The resident Labradoodle, Miller got his name because Mom won and got to name the baby! Need something chewed up? He'll take care of it. Especially if it's expensive..
that was totally awsome u guys are the greatest
You are amazing!!! Wish I could have helped you load the truck or watched the little kids for you.
YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!!!!! How awesome you all are!!!!!
yall are AWESOME!!!!!!!! Love the pay it forward…esp. in the OK tornado victims…yall totally rocked it!!!!
Amazing. We’re in SW OKC but go to Moore schools. The tornado came through less than half a mile south of our home and missed our girls school by less than that. Up at the church, which has become a Red Cross Center I’ve seen the most amazing things – every time I’m there people are leaving with cars full of needed food & supplies but somehow the piles in the gym just keep growing! It’s like a loaves and fishes thing! I’m sure your donations will just help keep that going.
Oh my goodness, how sweet! You should take pictures and see if you catch the semi truck 🙂 that would be neat to see it go full circle.
I am so glad ya’ll were safe.
God bless you, your family and everybody that helped…
This is awesome! Safe travels tomorrow, may every mile be a safe mile.
Awesome!!!!!
And thank you Tiffany for getting all of this organized. It was amazing to see how got used a bunch of total strangers to get His work done. 🙂
You all were leaving when I “came on”…. That was an awesome trailer you all brought from Sealy !! Thanks, sooo much for collecting and loading and driving over for the drop off. Great Work, Katie ! You Rock, gal.
It was a pleasure donating to this cause. I love what you have taught me through couponing. I have to admit that meeting you was like meeting a celebrity for me. My husband was laughing at me when I told him I got to meet you and couldn’t stop smiling! Kudos to you for helping with this!
Oh you are so sweet! Thank you so much for the help! You guys really all came through on this one!
You and your family never stop amazing me! You are truly and inspiration to ALL of us. You shine as Christians and “GOOD PEOPLE”! May God Bless you on your journey. Thanks for all you do time and time again.
You spelled it right! : ) Loved helping out. Safe travels and God bless!
Hey, gal…. We had fun. It was a pleasure working with you. !! Wish I would have taken more pictures. Glad your friends stopped by…The time really went fast…. The “customers” at Kroger were an awesome bunch…. Thanks, sweetie for all your help.
Thanks again for all your hard work and providing a way for me/us to help!! It is always so hard to watch the devestating pictures on the news and feel helpless not knowing how to support. You (and everyone who helped) made me feel like I could make a difference even if it was just a box of goods from my surplus. It shows that when we pull together everyone’s “little” it make a BIG (truckfull) difference. God Bless!
