OK, so the ad apparently was a misprint and it was supposed to say “Buy 3 get a $5 Target gift card” that is what the tags are saying and that is when the register prompts the cashier to give you a card.
HOWEVER, some of the Targets (not all will) are honoring the misprint for a while anyway. I am sure that at some point there will be a message from corporate regarding the matter.
This is a deal that might be only good TODAY at *some* stores. Meaning, don’t kill yourself to get to your store to try and do this deal. It also means don’t pitch a huge fit at the register and cause a scene because they won’t honor the ad.
BUT, if your store will do it…. OMGosh! It is a killer deal!
The other cool thing? Colgate and Listerine are included in this deal! Make sure to check out the coupon database to find all the coupons you will need for this deal.
At Samantha’s store this morning her cashier and manager were really nice and gladly overrode the register and honored the ad. They rang up each item at $.99 and so after every 3rd item it triggered a $5 gift card. Samantha was paying $2.98 for 3 items (plus using a coupon) and getting $5 back!!!
Soooooo basically she paid $0 and walked out with $20 in gift cards! * She started with a $5 gift card from the paper towel deal yesterday.

Just went to the target in tomball off 249 and 2920 and not only did they honor it….it rang up right 🙂 They rang up the tooth paste and it prompted a gift card and the toothbrushes too!!!! Good luck everyone!
No problems at my store today either. I went to the Target in Atascocita off 1960. It rang up correctly! I did several transactions at 3 different times (all of my cashiers were so nice too – and they were all men, not sure if that makes a difference. lol). I ended up getting 9 of the 3-packs of toothpaste and 4 of the oral-b 4-pack toothbrushes. After my $5 giftcard I only paid $1.25 out of pocket! Anyone need some toothpaste!?!? 😉
I was not so lucky…..I asked why I wasn’t getting three $5 cards since I was buying 3 products and she told me it was a misprint….I went ahead and purchased but changed my mind and took them back…..no problem getting a refund….store at Louetta and 249……
