Geeeez, the things I do for you guys! I HAD to go to Macy’s today and check out the Denim Event so I could report back. When you buy denim at Macy’s through February 18th, you get a $10 gift card back to use on anything else. I just kept rolling it onto other denim!
This is what I found… It’s a great deal, but there are some exclusions.
- Some brands, like Levis are NOT included
- You must buy something that is on sale or clearance!
- Again, it only works on sale items!
I bought 8 pairs of jeans and the little 3 piece outfit on the right. I did each one in a separate transaction. I bought the little boys jeans first and used the 15% off coupon on them. They were $12.99 on sale with 15% off, so I paid $11.25 for them and got back $10, then I just kept rolling the $10.
The men’s jeans were $79, on sale clearance for $19!! So I bought 2 for my husband and 2 for my son, I paid $9.99 + tax for each pair!!! Again, making one transaction and paying with the $10 and getting a $10 back.
The outfit on the end is a 3 piece outfit that was $39 marked down to $13. Using the last $10 gift card on it, I got it for $3 + tax.
Total spent: $93
Total saved: $440.95
** Sometimes cashiers will not let you use the $10 you just got again. If it does NOT say you can’t on the coupon, then I would just checkout at another register. If it says NOT valid the same day or something like that than follow what it says!
HAVE FUN!!!!
EXCLUDES: Levi’s®, kids jeans, clearance and Everyday Values (EDV). FOR ONLINE REDEMPTION:: Place qualifying jeans in shopping bag; discount automatically taken at checkout. FOR IN-STORE REDEMPTION: get a $10 savings card with qualifying denim purchase. See an associate at your Macy’s store for details; store exclusions apply. The Biggest Denim Event ends February 18, 2013, unless otherwise noted.

Just as angelic as she looks, this girl could easily raise a Village by herself, and all the children would grow up to be President.
Self proclaimed, she would be a webkinz dog. Because, "they're cute, and puppies are too. And they're sweet and they always get along with other puppies."

Do you know if you can use the 15% off coupon and the $10 gift card in one transaction? Or does it have to be one or the other?
Last time you couldn’t, but I would try for sure!
Is there any size restriction?? Because I have a 3T & 18 m girls 🙂
I just “made money” on this deal! I found a pair of LEVI’S for $6.99 WITHOUT the $10 coupon after purchase! I then found a pair of American Rag jeans that I used the coupon on, making it $5.94 without the $10 coupon! Be sure to check the clearance racks for better deals!!!
I think I’m missing something…under exclusions, it specifically says it excludes clearance. Wouldn’t this mean that you cannot use your $10 off on clearance jeans? Would you mind explaining to me what I’m not getting? We are in serious need of some jeans around here, and I want to get the best deal possible! 🙂
I am guessing that in the small print it was just missed. Neither the customer or the cashier probably even thought about it.
Ok, thanks for taking the time to reply 🙂
My ad (in KY) doesn’t say it excludes clearance. For the redemption of the cards, it says “Then redeem each card from 2/12-2/26/13 on your next sale or clearance purchase in all apparel depts, including shoes and accessories”. Then it says it excludes things like the EDV, gift cards, “super buys”, specials, etc. Specials doesn’t mean clearance does it? Could that be regional? Or am I reading this wrong? If so, please someone tell me because tomorrow I’m gonna drive from the boondocks to the big(ish) city to try this, lol. 🙂
Tried this today and they would only allow me one $10 savings pass per customer. I spent an hour in the store finding stuff and then could not even do it. I tried to fight it because that was not mentioned on any sign but they would not budge. A waste of time for me.
Next time, just do one transaction at a time. Pay for your item, take the $10 voucher, get another item and go to a different cashier.
