If you’re new to walgreens read my Walgreens 101 before heading out to the store. See all this weeks deals and coupons here. This week I’ll be doing a scenario for the points, remember you wont earn points on items if you use your points to purchase them.
How are you adjusting to the new points system at walgreens? Are you saving your points up or using them as you earn them? I haven’t decided what the best way to benefit from the change, I want to hear what you guys think about it!
In this points scenario you will spend $9.30 + tax, save $13 and earn 3,000 points = $3!

I saved them up to about $20, then I used them.

I have stop going to walgreens because the balance points were so confusing to me. I’m ready to learn and was just wondering, on the glucose meter and reward points. So lets just say that I’m buying more than one of them. On transaction #1, I buy one and get the 5,000 reward points. On transaction #2 buy another one and use the 5.oo coupon and the 5,000. reward points and still be able to get another 5,ooo pts. Or is it just a one time deal???

@Windy
I’m still getting the hang of new points too, I do know that the points do not ‘ROLL’ – meaning, that if I buy product ‘x’ and earn points in my first transaction, then I purchase a second product ‘x’ (or any other points earning product) – if I redeem my points, I will not earn points on that transaction.
Hope that helps!

If i scan my card and the in-ad coupon, can I go again later with my card and another in-ad coupon or are these 1 time coupons? Since I have to scan my card, I know they will know I have done this once. I couldn’t find anywhere to tell me.
thanks!

there is no limit on the pts you can get unless it says on the ad.. Example on the contour meter 5,000 pts you can buy more then 1 and accumulate the points.
I recommend not paying with your pts on products your buying for the pts. You can use and then you will loss the pts..
I would use my pts on stuff that has register rewards, then use register rewards to pay products with pts.
Hope this made sense! 🙂
