Adding to Walgreens 101 with new Balance Rewards questions and tips:
Charity’s receipt from yesterday: Had 40,000 points, used 5,000 points on Scott paper towels (also used .75/1 manufacturer q, $1/1 Walgreens October book, and two Register Rewards on this transaction). Closing balance 35,000 points.
Just be sure to redeem Balance Rewards points on a transaction where you are not expecting to earn more BR points.
When you buy an item at Walgreens where you earn points, those points show up immediately on the bottom of the receipt from that transaction. Look for “earned this visit”.
If you were expecting points but didn’t earn them, ask the cashier immediately. If you bought the wrong size, color, flavor, or fragrance of the item and therefore didn’t earn the points you can return the item and purchase the correct one.
Thank you Charity! If you have any questions please leave them and we will try and answer them!

FYI: I was on the phone with Walgreens for over an hour this morning. I checked my receipt after my purchase this morning and my points had disappeared . Checked my acct online when I got home and sure enough I can see transactions for someone in Florida , and they used my points! They say they will fix the problem, but now I’m worried abt how this happened and whether someone was able to see my info.

Why shouldn’t you use your rewards when you are expecting to get rewards? If you pay with them will you not get the rewards for that item? If so, that makes this system even worse!!

Is there a limit on the amount of times you can purchase the same item(s) for BR? I know you can roll the RR’s but I wasn’t sure if they had a cap on BRs like CVS.

Tiffany, I was at walgreens and purchased two clearance items. I had two manufact. coupons, each for $1.00. I tryed to use my $4.oo Register Reward slip and the register would only let me use one of the manuf. coupons with the Register Reward slip. Is this because I didn’t have three items?

From my experience and talking with Walgreens employees in the past-yes. The best way to understand it is to have an item for every slip of paper…be it a MQ, a store Q, RR, etc. That is why you often see “filler items” (usually $.25 or less) that won’t make a big impact on your overall total, but satify the requirement of having an item for every slip of paper.

I have 50K balance rewards points which is equal to $60. I can’t figure out if I should spend the whole $60 at once. I am afraid the points will diminish in value once I have less that 50K. Does anyone know the answer to this?
