I have been hearing a lot about the new Savings Star program and I wanted to get a little more information before I posted about it. I have been doing some research and it looks like a really good program, I also have a friend who has been doing it and is getting paid from them.
This is how it works:
Savings Star has ecoupons that can be added to your store’s loyalty card (like you already do with Cellfire etc.) and when you purchase that product at participating stores (CVS, Rite Aid, Albertsons, Dillon’s, Kroger, Ralph’s and many more stores) the eCoupon amount is added to your Saving Star account. When you reach $5, you can redeem your savings for Paypal or Amazon gift cards.
It is easy to do:
- Sign up for Savings Star HERE and add you stores loyalty card numbers (you can find these usually on the back of your cards)
- Click and add ecoupons to your account
- Go shopping and when you purchase an item that had a Savings Star coupon, the coupon amount will be paid back to you!
- When you get $5 or more in your account cash it out for cash via Paypal, your bank account or for Amazon gift cards!
This is a great way to be able to “stack” more coupons on items you buy. You CAN use a paper coupon along with Savings Star.
There are 24,000 stores that work with Savings Star, including CVS and Kroger in my area! This amount does not come off the transaction total at the store, but rather it is ADDED to your account when you buy the item you picked a coupon for! When you get to $5, you can “cash out.”
::UPDATED 6/21/14:: Savingstar is coming to more stores! Starting in July it will work at Walmart, Meijer, Dollar General, Target, Walgreens, and more!

I have been using Saving Star for a few months now and have had a really good experience with it. I selected to have the money put into my bank account when I “cashed out” and it was in there within 2 business days!
I had an issue where I purchased some items that didn’t register through saving star, and I can tell you that their customer service was EXCELLENT in getting it resolved. It ended up that my loyalty card was over 10 years old (!) and had been deactivated by the store, so it wasn’t saving star’s fault at all. I have the money deposited into our paypal account. My husband loves it!
I’ve been using Saving Star for awhile and now have nearly $12 in my account that I’m going to add to paypal. I hear great thigns from others too so I have no doubt the cash out process will go smoothly. What I love about it is many items they feature are ones I use. Most of the money I have accumulated are from diapers and wipes, pair that with a sale and regular paper coupon AND a saving star coupon= BIG savings…love it!
