CVS has released their new coupon policy HERE. I would print a copy and keep it with you or at least read through it! Thanks Couponing to Disney.
Here are some highlights of the policy:
- In the event that any item’s price is less than the value of the coupon, CVS/pharmacy will accept the coupon only to the price of the item. CVS/pharmacy does not provide cash back in exchange for any coupons.
- The coupon amount will be reduced if it exceeds the value of the item after other discounts or coupons are applied. (For example, a $5.00 coupon for a $4.99 item will result in a $4.99 coupon value).
- CVS/pharmacy accepts one third-party manufacturer coupon and applicable CVS/pharmacy coupon(s) for the purchase of a single item, unless prohibited by either coupon offer.
- CVS/pharmacy accepts valid internet/print at home coupons containing a barcode.
- CVS/pharmacy does not accept expired coupons.
This coupon policy is a corporate wide policy, it is valid for EVERYONE! For me there are not really any surprises, that is a good thing. I wish I would have seen a little more clarification on BOGO sales, but hopefully that will come later!

Thanks for the update. It doesn’t look much changed did it?
Brandy says
where did you get this policy? There is no effective date on it so now I’m questionign the validity…

Your right, I have nothing better to do then make up posts that there is a new CVS corporate policy! 🙂 if you are worried, call CVS corporate and ask them when a revised policy came out and ask for the link to where you can locate it on the web.

Holy angry blogger! She can also go to that handy link of yours 🙂 btw, loved Paul’s shameless Andy holding for the contest!

I wonder if this means they will no longer accept CVS coupons that come from the scanner machine that are expired. The CVS coupons that come from the scanner machine usually expire 1 month AFTER the printed expiration date.
Janel123 says
Probably, I know I just tried using a CVS magic machine Q and didn’t realize it was expired (by 1 day) and they wouldn’t take it. I never knew they even took expired ones. lol
Jen says
I wonder if this effects their acceptance of the ECB’s after their expiring date. Walgreens treats them as coupons. One of the reasons I love CVS is they will take an ECB whether expired, faded or torn as long as you can read the number 🙂
Lara says
When they say third-party manufacturer coupon, does that mean catalinas from other stores, or just their regular M + CVS q’s?
Renee says
just manufactures and cvs coupons, cvs does not accept other store coupons and does not accept Catalina’s form other stores, hope this helps ya

Tiffany,
Thank you for the update. I truly appreciate everything that you and Paul do to provide useful information for couponers. God Bless You and your family!
McKenzie says
Tiffany – does this mean no more ‘money-makers’? Thanks.
Tiffany says
Yes in a way… You can still get back more than what you paid in the form of ECB’s.
