Hi Everyone! We are back in the kitchen and today we are going to make one of our favorites Crock-pot French Onion Soup! Grab your crock-pot and a few simple ingredients for everyone’s favorite!
Prep time only takes a few minutes and you are well on your way to a satisfying meal. Perfect cold-weather meal and your family will be asking, “Is It Done Yet?” all day in anticipation. I always catch Paul sneaking a peek before I can even get the lid on.
It really is that easy and so delicious. No fancy cooking skills needed. This is a great “set it and forget it” recipe for a busy family like ours. When you return to the kitchen, you will have an amazing meal to enjoy.
Seriously! Crazy Super Easy!

Start by slicing 3-4 white onions and caramelize in a pan with 1/2 stick butter and 3t brown sugar
Add to crockpot with 64oz beef broth, 3/4 cup dry sherry or beer, a clove of minced garlic, 4t Worcester sauce, thyme, and a bay leaf. Cook on low for 6 hours

Top with your favorite french bread (or your choice) and your favorite cheese (We like Gruyere) that will melt down into the soup for that special yummy touch!

Note: Swiss cheese has a stronger flavor than gruyere but it can be used as a good substitute, particularly because it’s easy to find. It works particularly well when replacing gruyere in fondues and in fact, it tends to work a bit better because it has a creamier texture altogether.
