I thought that target sales were the same everywhere. The target paper here in the Dallas area has the scotch tape and Bic Pens for .60 and not .50 cent I then went online to check and it was the same there too. I am missing something? Just wondering.

Is it possible to use the coupon a couple of times for the tape when the barcode on it is the same for each coupon?

Ok. I just checked out another link that was on my fb page and it brings me to the same coupons with the same barcodes… so I am assuming that the barcodes can be the same?? Then how do you know when you have a copied coupon??
Yes you can because it is a pdf coupon. 3M is the only company that does this and I am not sure why….

Is there a limit on the number of coupons you can use? Like can I print off 10 coupons and get a $5 overage?
Not really, but they are going to freak if you have too many, they will find a way to have a problem with it!
Great idea! Thanks Tiffany! What should my battle plan be when they don’t allow me to use my coupon? Most cashiers and managers at my WM are STILL thinking we can only do one or the other but not both. Help!
Have both policies with you, neither say you can’t do both. Call corporate and ask them before you go, they say you can do both. OTHERWISE people would not price match at Walmart, they would just go to THAT store for the sale so they could get the sale price and use a coupon.
Also, how many would you suggest purchasing?

I went to Target and was able to get the item for free, but they wouldn’t let me get the overage.
You are right…Target does NOT allow overages!
I was unable to price match the Target Scotch tape and Bic pens at Walmart. The manager who I spoke with said that “both items have to look exactly like the picture in the Target add.” So the tape has 25% more listed at the top of the package, which Walmart doesn’t have, the Bic pens didn’t have “ball point on the bottom of the package” so I wasn’t able to get those either. Went to Target and was able to get 4 packs of Bic pens for only $.18 and I will be going to get some free tape! So just remember when price matching, it has to be the exact same…right down to the size. Hope this helps!
My Walmart said there is no way to tell the package size and that they wouldn’t price match them!!!!
Walmart in Sugarland doesn’t have them for .50 and they were out.
Walmart doesn’t carry them for $.50, they are more, price match it to Target to get it for $.50.
I just fiqured this out Target here in the 76208 Dallas area prices this week are higher than every where else. So wierd, I never saw this before. I checked online using my old chicago zip and I saw .50 cent sale like eveyone was talking about. So I guess target prices do differ depending on where you live.
my walmart in charlotte, nc price matched them. they were normally 2.22. i grabbed some of them and had enough overage to get some crest mouthwash. i guess it’s a ymmv deal.
i was able to pm the tape against target. it was normally priced at my walmart (charlotte, nc) for 2.22. left myself enough overage to pick up some other items. wooohooo!!! i guess it’s a ymmv thing though. good luck
I tried to use $1 off coupons @ Target and they said I couldn’t use one coupon for each since they are only >50, they would not apply it to overage. 🙁

There was nothing at the local WM that was close enough to the ad to price match.
I’ve been given overage from one of the local Targets several times in the past, so I might swing by there later in the week and see if they still have tape. It’s also hit and miss, but at this store I’ve had luck in the past.
How do I do the whole price match thing? I haven’t seen this advertised, so I don’t know how I can take an ad in and have Wal-Mart match it. Help!
My store was cleaned out of the tape with dispensers, but they allowed me to price match on the refill rolls because they are the same price regularly and pictured in the coupon too. I got 10 and didn’t have any problems pricematching, they had to manually enter each coupon though because the pdf wasnt scanning right that was the only “issue” I also did NOT clean them out of the remaining refills either 🙂
Tiffaney, Please explain (confirm) the difference between transaction and purchase, I printed 2 target coupons for the tape and pens and target only let me use one since it says 1 per transaction. so I had to get back in line to get my 2nd one
Ok, sorry a little confused. I don’t see the coupon for $1 off any Scotch Magic Tape in the pdf file. Only the one for the pop up tape in the dispenser. What am I missing?

The cashier told me Scotch tape price is 0.60 and my coupon exceed the price of tape so I need to find over $1.00 scotch tape not $0.60 tape. Is it true???
