Nice, if they hadn’t already been sold out. Story of my couponing life. I did get the shampoo and condition for red hair with the 2.00 coupon so that worked out. Just not free
jennifer says
Don’t forget about rainchecks.
Kim says
Drat!! I didn’t think of that!! I’m still new and I don’t think of the rain checks! If they come in after the ECB promo week you don’t get the ECBs do you?
Brankica says
My coupon is only $2 🙁

Tiffany you have said on previous blogs you purchase coupons, can you advise us which site you use? My coupon for John Frieda is only 2.00 however I would love to have multiple 5.00 coupons regardless. Any assistance you can give will be fabulous 🙂
Tiffany says
Try coupondede.com (I think thats it)

They were sold out of my JF Full Repair product too, but the JF Brilliant Brunette was still available, so I tried the $5/1 coupon & it worked. So, I bought each product separate so that I could get $3 ECB for each. Then purchased another 2 JF Brilliant Brunette with the $2/1 Coupon & used the $3 ECB to make it FREE 🙂

Wow! I’m impressed…I never would have thought to use that coupon with that shampoo. That’s what I ended up getting only for the redhead. I’ve been learning this for a month and every time I learn something I should have done! Good job!

I went to CVS this morning and it was 4 left. I bought 2 and the cashier almost did not let me use the coupon. She stated that the coupon said one per purchase and I said “Yes, I’m purchasing 2 of them.” She had to go get the manager and hold up the line and that was kind of embarassing for me. I never had a problem w/ CVS before, to end the story the manager told her I was right and I got my products free and my $3 ecbs.
V says
Ok, I just tried to do this. The cashier told me the same thing. He said that CVS as a whole is changing their store policy and that I couldn’t use both coupons in one transaction even though I was buying 2. So the cashier was wrong?
V says
Which location did you go to Amanda?
Christy says
To answer Kim-yes, CVS will write you a raincheck with the promotional number (you can find this number in the circular with each offer). When you redeeem your raincheck they have to manually put this number into the register, they scan your CVS card and you receive your extra bucks! Sounds like a long process but it really only takes a few seconds. Good Luck!
Tiffany says
V,
They are wrong, There is a difference between purchase and transaction. You can use 2 coupons in 1 transaction as long as it says per purchase and not transaction.

I purchased the brilliant brunette shampoo and conditioner as well as the root awakening shampoo today at 2 different CVS and the $5 coupon worked for each type. YEAHHHH!

Thanks for this great deal idea! It helped me get John Freida and over $50 worth other CVS items for a price you just won’t believe!!!!!!!!!!! Let me break it down…
Transaction1: Buy (2) John Freida with my 1st CVS card (deal limited to one per card), use two $5 cpns, pay nothing and get $3 ECB.
Transaction2: Buy (2) John Freida with my 2nd CVS card, use two $5 cpns. Buy Oral Pulsar, use $3 cpn, pay with $3 ECB from T1 and get $6 more ECB… pay nothing.
Transaction 3: Buy Crest Prohealth using $2 cpn and buy Excedrin. Use $3 ECB from T2 and pay only 49 cents. I got about $3.50 in ECB here.
Transaction 4: Buy (4) Ivory soaps using $1 cpns and Huggies diapers with $3 cpn. I used my $3 and $2.50 ECB from T2 and T3. I owed just 49 cents!
So altogether I “bought” (2) John Freida Full Repair styling foams, (1) John Freida Full Repair Shampoo, (1) John Freida Full Repair conditioner, (1) Oral-B Pulsar toothbrush, (1) Crest Prohealth mouthwash, (1) Excedrin Migraine tablets, (4) Ivory 3-bar soaps, and (1) package of Huggies Jumbo diapers for (drumroll please……….. $1.00!!!!!!!

I thought the rule was only one CVS card per household. So isn’t that “cheating?”
Tiffany says
It is 1, I think many people were still using the coupons on the items because you can still buy them at the sale price ou just don’t get the ecb’s back. It didn’t involve more than 1 card.
