Looking for a creative, fun, and inexpensive Baby Shower Gift? Diaper Cakes are super easy and quick to make and it’s something new that the mom-to-be will think is great! The way we put these together ALL of the items are still usable as opposed to different adhesives that would render items unusable.
You can find all the supplies you need at your local big box store like Walmart:
- Luvs Diapers (or other brand)
- Parent’s Choice Bottles
- Rubberbands
- 5/8 or 7/8 Wide Solid/Print Ribbon
- Johnson & Johnson Baby Sampler Kit
- Double-sided Tape or Glue Dots
- Toddler Spoons/Forks *Optional
- Baby Washcloths *Optional
For your Mini Diaper Cake (for just one layer) you only need six Size 5 Diapers, seven rubberbands, and one bottle.
To roll the diapers (for any layer/level) you will start from the open ending and roll towards the bottom of the diaper. Then wrap a rubberband around the middle (wrapping once will make it more puffy).
Above you can see the supplies and how you will assemble the diapers around the bottle. Take the last rubberband and slip the wrapped diapers next to the bottle.
If you want a two layer Mini Diaper Cake, you will take the bottle out of the middle and just fill in with diapers. As you see above it took 14 diapers to fill in. So with two layers you’ll need just 20 size 5 diapers.
After you stack your layers or leave it at just one layer you can then add your extras. Measure your 5/8-7/8 Ribbon before attaching it, then use the double-sided tape to firmly place the ribbon around your layers. I added buttons to go with a “Cute As A Button” type gift but you can add all kinds of bling.
