There is nothing more refreshing than taking a bath or shower with a moisturizing good smelling bar of soap. Oatmeal Goats Milk based soaps are my favorite! They give your skin an amazing moisturizing feeling, so soft and smooth. Soap making is so simple, only takes about 5 minutes of prep time and is gives me such a rewarding feeling! You can see a similar recipe by Living Chic Mom where she makes an awesome Lavender Lemon Soap.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs Goats Milk Melt and Pour Soap Base
- 2 TBSP oatmeal
- 1 tsp honey
- 10 drops of Essential Oil (Jasmine, Lavender, Peppermint, Rosemary, Orange)
Directions
Start out by cutting your goats milk base into 1 inch cubes. Place cubes in your microwave safe Pyrex measuring cup and microwave in 30 second increments. Every 30 seconds remove from the microwave and stir. Continue until soap base is fully melted.
Add oatmeal, honey and your choice of essential oil to the melted soap base.
Pour entire contents into your square soap molds. Set aside for a minimum of 60 minutes or until the soap is fully solid. Remove from mold and they will be ready to use right away!
***If after 60 minutes your soap still feels soft or mushy, let it sit for a little while longer, until fully solid.
