Walgreens has made some changes to their coupon policy. Things are not looking awesome for couponers…. You can go HERE to print a new copy to replace the old one.
The saddest thing to me is #9 – Which means you can NOT use a coupon on a FREE item anymore. Meaning if there is a BOGO coupon and a BOGO sale, you can’t use the coupon on it. Or 2 coupons on a BOGO sale. 🙁
What are your thoughts?

This really sux ad it means they will lose more loyal customers to CVS . My family of six on one income really appreciated shopping at wLgreens but if they feel they need to knowing that you get full reimbursement from manufacturer then do what you must I just think you will be losing customers
Joyce says
Look at number 16. No coupons can be used on sale items?
Jackie says
It says on 16 that manu coupons WILL BE ACCEPTED on sale items. But 7 and 9 really suck !!
Sophia Fitzwater says
This is not fair to people that has families! We are on budgets! We only get so much money each month to live on! These coupons help us to make ends meet! You all get money back from the manufacturer
CASSANDRA says

I don’t understand number 6…can someone please explain to me. Thanks in advance! If I understand correctly, say I have one item in my transaction and I have a register reward that printed from a previous purchase and a manufacturer coupon for that item, I can’t use them toward that item?? I don’t understand…
Tiffany Ivanovsky says
Yes that is what it is saying, but that was already the case with them so that has not changed a lot. You will need to add a “filler” item to make that transaction work. They are also saying they will not give overage.
Diane says
Thank you for your reply. I don’t really shop a lot at Walgreens with coupons. I thought maybe the register rewards were like the type of catalina coupons that take off x dollar amount off your next purchase but still allowing you to use a manufacturer coupon on the next purchase/item. Thanks for the clarification. Although I have about a year in couponing here and there, I still consider myself a newbie 🙂
Tiffany Ivanovsky says
They look just like catalina coupons so it can be confusing. You have to think of them as a separate coupon. Wags in not my favorite. they are too complicated. They make it too hard! 🙁

I had gradually lost my interest in Walgreens and for exactly these reasons! I only have time to shop/coupon on the weekends and my time is limited. the Walgreens policies are too complicated and have too many restrictions. There are usually only 1-2 items each week that get my attention and have to decide if its even worth it to shop. You get WAY more for your money at CVS and I ALWAYS find numerous deals. They are by far way more coupon friendly which is why they get my business every week.
Nicole says
I pretty much stopped shopping there when they changed their program last, it’s just too complicated- plus the closest store never has sale item and the cashiers are rude and don’t know their win coupon policies. CVS is always friendly and coupon friendly– I think Walgreens is really going to hurt themselves!
Karen says
Alot of coupon customers will just move on to stores that will give back! I use coupon, but everything I buy doesn’t have a coupon. If they have a very good sale on an item that I use. I will buy it as well. Walgreens is a business that seem like they want less people using coupons in there store , after reading the major changes they have made to there policy. Many big company have had to downsize & close because of being greedy. I look
at this as there lose & I will keep in moving to the next
store, who show an appreciation to there customers.
